MS70 American Silver Eagles...Where are they?

I posed a question to David Hall as to the lack of MS70 American Silver Eagles...Where are they?

PCGS is Grading MS70 Gold Eagles at a record pace and silver commems are minted the same way and are almost the same size and they are graded MS70, I just don't understand. It is to much of a bulky coin to garner such a grade?

Does anyone have an answer?

To date there have been only 12 graded MS70. What would the current market bring for an MS70 if 1 was up for sale.

Does anyone on this board own 1. Just curious.

  • I wish I owned one!! The last I remember one sold for around $4000, but that is hearsay, so don't quote me on it.
I just finished off my MS69 SAE set and do not see any upgrades in the near future. Looks like I'll be stuck at tied-for-second-best with the rest of the crowd.

So, what was the answer you got from Mr. Hall?

I think NGC grades them that high. I think I saw some on Shop At Home tv

I havn't received an answer for my question. You will have to look at the Q And A on tuesday.

As far as NGC MS70's, they are just like PCGS MS69's
