crossover grading - how does this work ?

i have some bgs and sgc cards i`d like to get holdered by psa. what do i need to do, how does this work ? thanks lee

Use a regular PSA submission form. Fill it out with the cards that you are sending in just as if they were raw cards. There is a column listed MIN. GRADE here you cam list the grade that you want.

This is what is listed on the PSA web site

Crossover Service.

Cards graded by other third-party firms may be submitted in their holders for PSA grading. This service is available under the Economy, Regular, Express, Super Express and Walk-Through service levels. PSA will evaluate the card inside the current holder. If PSA deems the card worthy to cross over into the Customer's specified minimum grade, the card will be removed from its holder and placed into a PSA holder.
Customers using the Crossover Service must provide a minimum grade on the submission form. If Customer is willing to accept any PSA grade for the card, "any" should be written in the minimum grade column.

On the bottom of the form, mark crossover and pick the service that you want to pay for, actually the service that you are willing to pay for, calculate the fees and send the cards in.

psa graders are bound to be biased when they see the company name on the slab. it is human nature. they know that bvg is graded differently and sgc might be trimmed and gai is really new. their opinion will get in the middle. it would be impossible not to. imagine if you "cross over" scd, mint, mgs, or pro?

Can you include crossovers on the same invoice as a bunch of raw cards? Or do you have to spilt them up on to two different invoices?

I saw a group of Cobb T206s come up on eBay recently. One of the SGC cards has a pin hole in it... how does PSA grade that? Or do they just slab a 'authentic' on it?

mrc32- Crossovers always have to be on their own invoice.

onegaucho - I would think any card with a pinhole is at best a 2. I sent in a beautiful 37 OPC Batter Up card that I thought was a 7 and it came back a 2. It took me forever to find the pinhole mark at the top of the card. Most of the time a card with a pinhole comes back a 1.

speeder - Check out the cards in the holder and than compare it to PSA's standards. I have crossed over cards from a lot of different companies and have found no bias (although the samples range from 2 to 10 cards for each company) in the grading.

So I would have a raw invoice and a crossover invoice in one box with one return shipment?

Good point. But I guess if I had a card like that I would submit in person.

If you have to pay for shipping twice then I might as well crack out my 4 cards I want to crossover. I have a small invoice with only 10-12 cards for my set. 4 of them are SGC and GAI graded and I want to cross them over. In lieu of spending twice the amount to ship, which when you include registered and return postage is expensive, it seems like it is more $$ conscience to crack them out. True?

I was under the impression that you can submit 2 invoices in the same box but pay return shipping for each. Is that true?

If it is true, would I mark both services on the outside of the box?
