Proud Owner of "Coin Cozies" - With Slab Cozy Update!

Hello everyone,

I've been storing most of my better coins in Airtites these days but ran into the problem that placing several together can scratch the plastic. Occasionally I like to bring a few with me for show & tell purposes but usually have toruble carrying them in such a way as to not damage each other. Thanks to my wife I now have a solution to this dilemma: coin cozies! They're Airtite sized pouches made of felt each of which holds a single Airtite safely and securely:

Notice the special one with the letters "F II" on it. This one hold my favorite coin (and avatar) my Ferdinand II thaler.

I showed them to my friends at work and they looked at me like I should be kept away from sharp objects. However, I know the forum memebrs will be more appreciative!

She used her mother's sewing machine. That was one confused looking mother-in-law once she figured out what was being sewed.

LL is a good woman!! Now all you need is some way to tell them apart while they are packed away.

If she wants to make big bucks in her own business, all she has to do is sew them in a standard PCGS slab size and embroider custom Registry names and slab numbers on them. image

Funny you should mention that, Shiroh!

The slab sized cozies are already on order and we've discussed how Ferdinand's mongram would be inproved with the use of an embroidering machine. Christmas is coming so who knows!

Hmm...I don't know, I think I'd prefer "The LamminL Collection". Otherwise, the only thing I'll be remembered for is my liberal use of liquor in baking.

I just thought of something, JamminJ and LamminL-- you can probably make the most money marketing your Coin Cozies to modern collectors who want to keep their "hot off the press" coins from cooling down.

I'll have to make a few "Sample Cozies" to help promote the product. Maybe Cammeron Keifer's future son will make a hobby out of collecting the rare and desirable sample cozies. Oooh - the first generation green felt before they got the embroidery machine!

Buy the felt - not the plastic!

Do you have any rare sample cozies?

Indeed we do, if fact here are the two rarest sample slab cozies. The early experimental green felt with/without flap set in the lowest possible serial number of....0001. These are the keys to the whole slab cozy set!image

Enjoy, but don't look at them for too long, their magnificence will overwhelm your senses.

In addition to all my alcoholic dessert needs.

I was very impressed with Mrs. Shiroh's gift buying expedition to the coins shop, I think she's a keeper too!

Sometimes, when I tease JamminJ about being a coin geek, he reminds me that Trekkies (he still won't say "Trekkers") with glass houses in the form of tricorders, phasers, and assorted StarFleet apparel ought not throw stones.

Start mass producing them, maybe you can put Russ and his Slabcaddies out of business!!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Just a little update on the slab cozy progress. LamminL decided on buying an embroidery machine so she now makes personalized cozies.

    Have a look:

I believe the cozies will soon be personalized on a coin by coin basis in addition to having my "name" on them.

And now, cozies with monograms of the guy on the coin inside the slab inside the cozy.

    This one's for Ferdinand II:
