Mini Express Sucks!

I won a card on 9/28/03, mailed check, check cleared around 10/10/03. I emailed telling them that check had cleared and asked when card was going to ship and if it had shipped what was the tracking number. No response. So I ask on this board if anyone had had trouble with them. A few responded stating that they were slow and advised to call them. After umpteen voice mails and a month later, I finally get thru to "Raine" on 11/7/03. Note I got thru to her. She never called me back. She does the trace and tells me that the card was delivered on 10/14/03 or so. I asked, "What address and who signed for it?" She says that there is no signature (UPS just left it) and it was at the wrong address. She then asks if I could go to the address and try to get the card. It is in the same city, but I don't know who lives there. I told here that I would not. It was her responsiblity. I have been trying to follow up to find out what she is doing about the situation and again, she is never in the office.

I did find out from their answering service that it is basically a 2 person company and they are seldom in the office and that the answering service hears a lot of people complaining.

I am 5 states away and almost defenseless.

I will listen to any and all suggestions.

  • Here's my suggestion. Leave a negative like I did:

    toppsgun( 869) Nov-05-01 20:43:37 PST 1011142157 S
Complaint : SLOW SELLER: Item received 25 days after payment made & case was scratched.
Response by mintxpress - Our customers know better; card shipped immediately after pers. check cleared
Follow-up by toppsgun - mintxpress=black hole for flawed cards& holders; no return policy stinks. AVOID!

It's very empowering. It was their first negative. They threatened me with a lawsuit to force removal of the negative. I called their bluff and my attorney stood firm. The negative remains.

Ohhhh! MINTXPRESS, I was trying to figure out who the hell was MINI EXPRESS (as the title stated), I thought it was a place to get gas, milk & newspapers image ...jay

I've only bought from them a few times. They sold a 1969 Murcer out from under me but made good on it with a refund for my final bid + shipping + a little extra for my troubles. I don't have enough experience with them to draw any conclussions.

Never happy with their service. I wasted a lot of time trying to get them.. Then they claimed that I had not paid for the card. I then faxed a copy of my cancelled check to them. They acknowledged payment, but then claimed they couldn't find the card! A few days later, the card arrived. Here I would leave a negative f/b and complain to EBAY as well.

It would be interesting to see the day the somebody actually wins a lawsuit for a negative feedback that is truthful and not slanderous. It would change EBay transactions dramatically. People would be afraid to leave negative feedback and sellers would abuse that fact.
  • Anyone can sue anyone else for just about anything. But eBay is very clear about feedback rules and regs. As long as it's not libelous, I don't think anyone can be successfully sued over leaving feedback.

My problem is most people whine and belly-ache over "should leave negative FB" or "what if they retaliate?"

SO WHAT? Leave the neg. and do the rest of the community a favor by pointing out bad sellers. If you don't leave negatives for crappy service/products, you're a wimp and you do a disservice to the rest of us.

If you throw enough money at a lawyer, they'll sue for anything. Now winning a lawsuit over someone leaving you proper negative feedback is something else entirely.

  • I've had no problems with MintXpress. Yes, they are slow on delivery since they typically wait at least two weeks for checks to clear (probably because they were burned some time in the past). But they've never failed to deliver a card, and they've been well packaged too (which is more than I can say about some big-time dealers!).

Right now on eBay they have a good assortment of cards, a couple of which I have an eye on. They also deal in coins, which don't interest me. They do seem to continually sell some nice 1950's cards, which I collect. I also like how they scan both the front and back; I wish more sellers would do this.

No complaints here, and I've had about seven or eight transactions.

  • Thanks for the replies.

I did leave them a NEG. It was the quickest repsonse that I have ever gotten. Nothing has been resolved, but they did respond. Their response was only a "half-truth".

Can I respond to their respose?

    left aswell as their response.

  • ok I have several questions. first, what is up with the flip? is that authentic? second, shouldn't that be a 9(OC) based on centering? and last, what is up with the hologram on the back of the slab? has it been tampered with? is that a warning sign of a problem?

  • I wouldn't be too concerned about the slab.....it's an older slab so it has been handled a few times. I don't like the tilt on the card though. I'm not sure if it deserves an OC qualifier.

This card is an early graded PSA card. The flip is legit. As far as centering, I don't see a problem - looks like a solid PSA 9 to me. I will be happy to buy that card right now if you want to sell it. Let me know.

Alot of Semi hi#'s from 1969 have the tilt. Card is not OC. I owned this one at one time. I thought it slightly over graded. But a nice card. I've seen worse 9's. Even 10's.
  • Here is a typical Mint XPress Paid Oct. 27, personal check since they don't take Paypal, repeat customer with perfect feedback. Card arrived November 20. (check less that $100.00)

  • Here is a follow-up.

After posting the negative, Rain decides to finally respond to one of my emails. Never did call me.

MintExpress sent my money back and is trying to recover the card. I told her that I still would like to buy the card if they did recover it.

I am satisfied with the way it turned out, but very upset that it took a negative to "get the ball rolling".

  • See? Negative feedback works. More of us should try it.
