    Interesting story. I thought this was going to be another story about a medal slowing or stopping a bullet shot at the carrier.

    I always wondered at the story behind the medallions. One of my favorite presents a patient has given me was from a very nice Air Force lady who gave me one of her command medallions. She also told me to be sure to go to an Air Force club some day with it and challenge people for free drinks. Now that I know this story I like the medallion even more!
