The ROCK AND MINERAL SHOW and yes this has to do with coins

Well its out clubs annual rock and mineral show. There is one dealer that is also selling coins. Me being into both rocks and minerals and coins and currency. I had to check out his tables. He has a bunch of Peace and Morgans and some small coins. Well he also has 1 bust its and 1835 I asked his to see it and he acted like I was some rube from off the street he started to tell me how to hold his coins so I wouldnt ruin them. LOL he didnt like it when I busted out the white cotton glove and showed him up . Well I asked his price on the coin and he said 350$ I asked if he ment 3.50$ or 35$ but he could'nt mean 350$ I tell him after all this coin has been dipped (very obvious) and it has been wizzed. Well he grabbed his coin back totally ignoring the lesson in handeling coins he had given me not more then 2 minutes before. When I asked him the price of the 1923 Peace that actually was unc he said he wouldnt part with it for less then 100$ Now at this point Im thinking that this guy is in the business to give the customers the business and that he also is an A-hole. Ya I know what your all thinking im being unreasonable. Well believe me im not. The other stuff he is selling was some cheep low grade junk jewerly with very poor stones in them. Well this guy anytime I go buy his tables is now keeping an eye on me.

This should just go to show you that im not the great nice kind guy everybody says I am .

Well, there's one more than one way to look at this.......

On the one hand, it's a GOOD THING when some of these slimeballs get called on the carpet once in awhile for selling junk at overinflated prices. Especially in public. Just make sure it's not a "coins AND GUNS" type of show image

On the other hand, let's reverse the situation. Suppose he had underpriced choice stuff. Would you still tell him he was an unknowledgeable dealer and needed to get a clue? I think not.

  • Hi byron, I too am in to coins and rocks, crystals, gems. Maybe i could trade you gem quality tourmaline for morgans
