I did it!
I broke into the top 20 (Roosevelt 1965 to date) set .(Full Bands Only #19)
Made everyone of them all by myself, so it can be done by anyone.
I plan on buying the 99- date coins since there are so many high grade coins made by others.
Now can I stay here? Competition is tough here………….

I like that! A true collector.
I like that! A true collector. "
The whole concept is silly IMHO. A "true collector" doesn't have to make slabs. In fact, my respect goes out to those few collectors who take the time and effort to attend nearly every major auction in the country in pursuit of the super quality slabbed coins. I have a very nice collection of slabbed silver MS Wash quarters. The vast majority of the pieces in the collection are slabs I purchased from one place or another, or one retired collection or another. Many of these "pedigreed" slabs (even though most are just pedigreed in my mind, not actually on the holders) are my most prized pieces in the collection. They mean every bit as much as the slab I personally made. Making slabs = true collector = hogwash

Congratulations! Making them all is quite an accomplishment. Here's a
link to your set so others can easily take a look

I buy slabs. I've never made one!
Ultimately it's the coins that count, not how or where they are acquired.
many rolls did you look at to make most of these? How about the '82's and '83's? Were
they from souvenir sets or rolls? Were you even able to find rolls of everything? Did any mint
sets prove tough?
Don't let anyone talk you out of it.... Including me. Keep up the good work Glen......

Hmm... looks like the score is 1 against and 6 for the efforts made by Glen.
Real class response Wondercoin. Way to shoot down the efforts of a collector who may enjoy building his set this way. Not everyone gets to attend coin shows/auctions you and others do. Because he doesn't is reason enough to knock him?

How snobbish! If it weren't for the collectors who slabbed these coins in the first place, you wouldn't be needed. If and when you pull your nose out of the clouds you might want to reconsider your position. Even though I wouldn't be classified in your book as a "real customer" I have removed you from my list of dealers to do business with.

Again, my respect goes out AS MUCH TO THE "TRUE COLLECTORS "who compete at auction for the great coins.
Nice job Glen

Cool, another numistmatic comedian.
Welcome aboard.
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
Now that is an accomplishment! Congratulations!
