1985 Topps Elway over 1k!!!!

I see on ebay there is bgs 9.5 Elway that is already over 1k (there are no psa 10's). Makes me wonder what KR's (or museum of Sports History may own it now, untill this case gets cracked will never know?) 1986 topps Elway Psa 10 1/1 would fetch. Could this be a record for post 1980's non rookie graded card......I sure hope some more 85-86 topps football gets graded when this kind of green can be made.....

    I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that was sheet-cut. ToppsVault has auctioned some '85 sheets recently.

    That price is totally out of whack - I'm a fan of strong prices but that BGS card won't hold that value.

    The crazy thing is it's at over $1100 now and it's not met the reserve, what is this seller thinking. Joe have you ever heard of BGS grading sheet cut cards from 85 topps football. Wonder what them sheets went for.........NHLfightguy

    Wow!! That's sounds crazy at first. But as i thought about it these cards are all horribly cut. I wish I had a 9.5 but I wouldn't pay 30% of that price. I'll take a PSA 8 for $55.

    The sheet I was bidding on with a Marino and an Allen sold for about $250. I can't say that I know of any sheet-cut BGS cards from '85 - I was just speculating. I'd be scared enough not to bid, personally.

    Now at over $1,500. Looks like there are a couple big time Elway collectors who want and KR(elitecards). I look for KR to bring this one home. The reseve is still not met, don't get that one at all......

    Kenny Goldin was selling a bunch of uncut 1985 football sheets on SAH just a couple of years ago.

    Anyone planning on crossing a high grade from Beckett to a high grade from PSA,
    takes the substantial risk that the card may have been recently cut from a sheet,
    and will come back unholdered from PSA.

    Anybody know what happened to this card. I know the hammer hit at over 2k and it still didn't met the reserve!!!!!!!!!!!!!
