Well I guess that shows I know nothing about the darkside. Were the matte proofs only minted in 1902? I really like matte finish coins and call the '94 and '97 SMS Jeffersons matte proofs in my own personal vocabulary.
As far as I know from that time period 1902 is the only year with a full set of Silver and Gold matte proofs. There are other coins minted in matte proof but they are scattered here and there.
