  • Mint State 68 Full Bands, there is only one MS68 flat graded, and to my knowledge, this is the first and only 1946 Roosevelt Dime graded MS68 Full Bands. Also, the coin is gorgeous, absolutely stunning Multi-Color Beauty. Photo coming as soon as coin is received from PCGS.

10K... duh..... I'll wait and see if I can make my own or, I'll wait for the pops to stabilize..... The same way you made yours, is the same way more will be made.....

Somebody buys that for 10k, what do you do when the pops go from 1 to 5, then to 10.......

1946 being the first year of issue, I feel strongly that the ms68 number will climb. In fact, maybe I should open some of my original bank rolls.

  • Hi HepKat,

I appreciate your observation and your past business on Ebay. I did want to interject though that so far there has been only one other 1946 P Roosevelt in PCGS MS68 made to date, and PCGS has been grading coins for a long time. I'm quite sure that there will be many other 46P's graded in Full Bands, I would however think that it would be a stretch to predict that there will be 5 to 10 graded MS68FB. I would also like to point out, of the entire series from 1946 to 1964, there are only 57 MS68's graded, both flat and FB. Also, we as a company submit tens of thousands of coins to PCGS each year, and I know that we have made less than a handful of Roosey's in 68. So, Please tell me where this hoard of Roosey's are that one will be able to find Multiples of several dates in MS68FB?image

    Thank you,

    Nate

If interested in the coin, please send me an offer.

I owned the pop 1/0 PCGS-MS68 1946(p) Roosie - one of the most beautiful toned MS68 Roosies I have ever seen FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES (thanks again Butch) and a coin that should grade PCGS-MS68FB when it is resubmitted for the designation. I am sorry to see that coin lose its pop 1 status, but look forward to seeing the scan of this new MS68 coin. image

Mitch, You and I both know that the 46P you onced owned is a solid high end coin for the grade and is definitely a
full band MS68 coin. Agree,,,, One of the prettiest Roosies I have ever seen. Here's a scan for all to see.

Nick: That scan does not do the coin justice. The coin puts a smile on your face every time you look at it! image But, then again, your NGC-MS69* 1946(p) probably puts the same smile on your face image

hotcoins 10k is rediculous, but if you can get it... hey, thats what free enterprise is all about. A ms68 is a tough make, I know that, just because you submit as much as you do in no way qualifys you as some kind of authority on ms68 Roosies anymore then my submissions would me. More ms68fb's will show up, these first year issues are abundant in uncirculated rolls and in folders all across the country. I have 4 1946's in for grading right now..... I will admit I'll be happy if one gets into a seven holder. And, some of that hoard of cherry GEMs, is in my safe..... with a few coins being submitted a few at a time.......

there are only 57 MS68's graded, both flat and FB.

Yeah, but considering PCGS only recently started the Full Band/Full Torch designation, I've got a feeling that more than 50% of those 68's are Full Band. I mean, you don't see many (if any) 68's that aren't fully struck.

    Just my humble opinion, Jim

the other thing hotcoins, to say that only 57 coins have graded so far in a 8 holder holds no water and I'm not sure why you think that validates anything you are saying... it wasn't to long ago that PCGs just started graded Full Bands....... that number will increase.... surely you would understand that?

Off the subject, but the same applies to the 1999 Wide AM Lincolns. image
  • Hi Hepkitty,

There is no guarantee that the pop will increase and there is no guarantee that the pop won't increase. I just know from experience that it is mighty, mighty tough to get a Roosevelt dime in a PCGS MS68 holder whether it is full bands or not, that's all. There just happens to be one available that you can make an offer on if you are so inclined.

    Thank you,

    Nate

    Hold on everyone,

I don't think Hotcoin should be flamed for asking 10K for this coin. There are only 16 MS68FB Silver Roosies graded to
date by PCGS, I suspect there's at least 10 - 12 more that have not been sent in for FB review yet. If you recall DHRC
had one on there web site for just under 10K. To the best of my knowledge it went unsold, and that coin was a pop
    3. Nathan had to pick a starting point if he wanted to sell the coin and 10K probably seemed as good as any. He has
already acknowledged to make him an offer. I'm sure he wants the most he can get for the coin and to start with a high
ask price is the way to do it.

Lucy, You are exactly correct in your statement about future pops, But so is Nathan....Its an unknown and I'm sure
Nathan priced this coin based on todays pops. Its the buyer who has to decide whether to pay up for it today or
    wait for another, tomorrow..... image
