First "Major" Submission

I recently sent in my 1st "real" submission (not the free gradings you get when you sign up/renew your Collector's Club membership). It's only 26 cards, so it pales in comparison to the massive 1000-card submissions some of you dealers/larger collectors make, but I'm still nervous in anticipation of the results. I wasted a few extra bucks and submitted under the July Collector's Club special of $10/card for Express service. I feel like an expectant father, awaiting the reuslts to be posted. I'm almost tempted to just wait and not check the grades early, but I doubt I could wait that long.

Anybody know what their "normal" turnaround time is for Express? They guarantee 5 days, but do they usually get them done quicker than that?

    I'm in the same boat...

I shipped in a 48 card order under the same special with a July 30th post mark on it. I know that it arrived yesterday because they called to tell me it was 48 cards and not 49 like on the form. Not sure of the turnaround times - but, I'd be happier than heck if the cards still weren't graded by next Thursday (which would be 6 or 7 workings days).

Something about 48 free "EXPRESS" gradings sounds pretty good to me!

  • Frank- Mine were received yesterday as well. I had actually pared it down from 40 cards to the 26 I actually submitted. I still have 6 free gradings from my Collector's Club renewal that I can use, but I wanted to see how well my eyes were "calibrated" as to what PSA is looking for. I too wouldn't mind another 26 free submissions, but I won't be holding my breath.

By the way, I've recently entered the fray on the 1972 set. I'm currently zooming up the charts in 67th place. It really hasn't become a priority (yet), but maybe after this year's awards are handed out I'll start putting more effort into it. I don't think any of the "Fab Five" have anything to worry about (at least not for a few years).

Well... I can tell you that my "72 efforts" and "racing" cannot be used in the same sentence anymore. If I can pick up one or two every few weeks, I'm a happy guy - prices have skyrocketed lately. Good luck in your efforts!

I've still got my 10 free for Platinum membership and 5 more for hitting 75% on the 70 Topps set. Thanks god, that the registry special for August isn't geared towards my sets - so I have at least a month to save!

I had a submission get in yesterday also , I will check it on friday evening. a few months back, they had the same special and the grades posted late on the last day.
  • My submission (using this special) was received 7/28 - and the grades were posted 8/4 ... exactly one week (5 business days).

As a side note, it was the first time I successfully hit 75%+ on grade predictions, so I was happy!

That 49th card didn't happen to be a $5,000 T206 "error", was it?

Just kidding around. I couldn't resist the irony.

Well I hope you at least sent the dang submission regular mail, without insurance like the website and submission form instruct usimage
  • Wow, I wish I had a Berra RC included in my submission! Mine are mostly mid-70's oddball Bench, Perez and Morgan issues.

joker73- what was your submission #?...I'm always curious to see how people fair.

I sent 2 baseball cards and 46 66 philly's mostly stars excluding sayers and butkus, hoping to avoid the o/c designation on them all but a couple will probably get it. hope to get some 9's but many 8's are expected.
  • I sent in 50 cards postmarked July 31st. I already received the email (2 days ago) saying my cards were received. I sent in 1,200 cards the week before the National and I have the cards from 6 of the 7 invoices in my house. The other one is done and I am waiting for it. The turn around times at PSA have been fantastic lately.

Looking for well centered 1958 topps baseball psa 8 and up. Also dying for a 70 Aaron All Star in PSA 9.
  • GT - it was invoice #4051622. The only ones I really missed were the handful of Rose 8s and the Iverson 7 (no clue why, it's a gorgeous card). Most are for my personal collection, so overall I'm happy image

P.S. The Hutchinson 10 was total luck - he was a student of mine while TAing at Stanford, and I just wanted one of his cards for kicks ...

logged in on monday shipped today . invoice # 4061190 some real nice 66 philly's including 3 1 of 1 9's and a 1of 2 I thought I would get a 9 on 1 of the #1 cards and on the mine which is the only reason I sent that card, also because bench is on it but my personnal preference, I'll probably pick the best one and resubmitt. overall happy with the resultsimage
  • When do the "5 business days" of the Express Service end? At 5 PM Pacific time? I know I'm probably jinxing myself by even posting this, since I'm sure the grades will post immediately after I post this. I guess I'm just getting antsy regarding my grades, since it's my 1st real submission!
  • Well, it was 5 business days right on the money. Grades posted late yesterday afternoon. All in all, I was VERY pleased, although I did receive my 1st 8 ever (I knew my prefect record couldn't last forever).
