$2100 for 1958 Topps BB Johnson

Wow. I guess it's buy the holder, not the card. I know it's a pop of one, but those print dots are ugly. Rather buy my icon card in PSA 8 for that price!

Always looking for 1957 Topps BB in PSA 9!

How cool would it be to have this type of budget for PSA 8 commons?

    Unlimited Budget??

It is a 1/1 PSA 8 of a tough variation. Yes, the print dots are ugly, but the centering is exception, and the corners otherwise look strong.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

And to think, with a minute to go it was at a more reasonable $56.55image

Somone explain that bid history to me. Did two people really put snipes in of 2K+ for that card?

That just seems like so much money to me for a so-so card. I mean does the buyer remember meeting Ernie Johnson in 1958 or what?

Its more then a so-so card, its a needed variation to complete the set and the only one graded as a PSA-8. Is it worth that kind of $, not to me, but I am not chasing that set and do not have unlimited funds. So apparently the buyer is happy (or he wouldn't of bid) to land one helluva tough card, and we can bet that the seller is happy too! Long live eBay!...jay

Those two bidders have been slugging it out for years it seems now. They are both outstanding ebay members and good people, and all I have to say about it is this: GOD BLESS AMERICA.

That's insane, I'd rather have the Mickey Mantle from that set in PSA 8.

    Steve:

Though I agree with you -- there are probably a few sets now where some select few PSA 8 commons might outsell the PSA 8 Mantle....
