This is an opportunity for you to buy something you've always wanted Pinnacle to sell.

When people say baited breath does that mean their breath smells like something you would use for bait to catch fish with?

Steve, maybe the I.S. Memorial set is Stewart's and he's trying to use reverse psychology to promote it. image

My view on mid-1970's proofs of nearly all denominations to date vs. their MS high grade counterparts has been pretty clear here over the years (in fact, Mark Ferguson from Coin World Trends quoted me this week on the subject). Every time these collections come up and world record prices are paid for some of these coins, I get more surprised than the time before. I keep reminding myself it is only money. image

Mark - Your soooo smart !!!!! I am trying to sell you something but you just don't go for my bait.

Wondercoin - Do you think the 1971 s in proof 69 deep cameo will sell for more than the 1963 did in proof 70 deep cameo. However i did notice in the set registry that John Troy recently acquired a 1971 s as welll as a 1959 in proof 69 deep cameo from the CLS or selby set.Now that john troy already has one who will be the next batter?

No, not even close. I peg the "over/under" at $9.5k hammer, not because I would pay anywhere near that price for the coin. So, Stewart, do you pick the "over" or "under" at $9.5k hammer? image

Mitch - absolutely over.I'm surprised you can't figure this one out. However most readers would think we're out of our gourds with this price for a 1071 s proof lincoln cent.

Stu: OK, your $10k+ hammer on the coin ($11,500 minimum sales price)- we'll see. What's amazing is the 71(s) nickel (nearly as difficult a coin in TRUE PR69DCAM as the cent) can be had for around $2k!

Stewart - Stuff happens! If this set has pieces that are of interest to you, buy, buy, buy! Personally, the proofs will never overshadow your Lincoln wheat MS set - not now, not ever, IMHO. I'd rather be in the top ten in MS than #1 in the proofs (all else equal). Your 1919 is my wallpaper and every time I boot up, I see how far I have to go!!
