This one was on ebay almost ten full minutes before Russ and I were discussing it's next home. Here's the one question: will it next reside on the left coast or right coast? Hmmm. Edson was also interested.

I plan to bid fair and square but I've arranged for the shop-at-home basball card chick to knock on Russ'
door 3 minutes before the auction ends for a "survey".

    Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

    Joe,

Not distraction enough when compared to that '67 SMS. image

  • What would you like to get for the 67DCAM SMS AND 7069DCAM,

I really love the way the SMS's loog and the 70 69DCAM was always
elusive to me, I just recently had to sell my whole JFK set off.

I'd like to get $1000+ for my baby the 67, but I am realistic about the market!! I don't know if I'll ever see one again so the sting of losing her can be lessened by a nice price! The 1970 can easily be replaced so I'd be satisfied as long as I get the opening price of $369 which I think is very, very fair. Anyone else attached to a particular Kennedy like me??

Russ.....Do you think that any more DCAM's 65-67 SMS Halves are still out there in unopened Mint sets??

Yes, there are. Not in huge numbers, but they're out there. Don Heath just made a truly magnificent 1966 in MS68DCAM that is now part of the The Cris & Eddy Santos Collection (#2 proof Kennedy set).

BTW, as I told you in eMail, I believe your coin is worth $1000+. Granted this is above current market, but as the birthmark die variety it is a very special coin.

You guys are amazing!! How could you possibly have followed this coin?? I rescued it from a PCI slab. I only hope to be able to identify such quality in the future. I guess it's a gamble buying "off brand" slabs but I love the possible returns on the investment. And besides that I never planned on selling her but the wife needs a Kidney transplant. Some things are more important in life then coins. Thanks Quattro!!

    Manorcourtman,

Good luck to your wife, and I hope all goes well. I was the underbidder on that piece when you bought it, and loved it then as I do now. We might have set a new record for a PCI holdered modern coin, but to your credit, you recognized the coin and ignored the holder. I chuckle to myself when I hear all the chatter about modern guys buying plastic, and then participate in an auction like that. Obviously, seeing the coin in its rightful holder, we were both right! I look forward to your return to active collecting.

Don, I'll see your $615 and raise you $50. What the heck. The mortgage company can't expect a check from me EVERY month. This one looks really nice. Edson, play nice, you already have one.

    Russ, go answer the door.

    Hi Guys!!

You will not believe this but my Wife is on the way to Medical College of Ohio.....they have a Kidney for her!! Two years on the transplant list and they call her this morning, so thanks for all your well wishes and please pray for the best. I had never ever mentioned this to anyone prior to yesterday and this happens!! Just amazing!! I guess the coin was special?? When she woke up this morning she said she had an idea they were going to call her. Thanks again for your well wishes. I am still shaking my head! She is only 43 so this is 2nd chance at a real life for her.

As a nurse, I can tell you it will be a little rough for awhile but the rough past should be behind you both soon. I wish you both well and good luck. Sometimes you can get good karma from doing good deeds. Hopefully the new owner will also appreciate the uniqueness of the new addition.

  • Guys,
Sorry for just appear right now.
I was very interested in this coin to substitute mine that I intented to sell as soon I received this Baby. Just a Plan that failed because I lost the opportunity to bid for a stupid reason. I injured my knee and expent almost the entire Sunday on ER. Not a big problem but my career of soccer player is done.... image

Great news!! Kathy my wife got her new kidney last night!! The surgeon came out at 3:30 am to report all went well. I just left her and she is already out of bed and sitting in a chair. The vital signs and everything are great!! What an experience! Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. What a great bunch of people you all are. And please consider being an organ donor if you haven't. It changes peoples lives like you'd never understand. The donor was a 23 year old young man who lost a battle to an anyourism(sp). But his life lives on in who knows how many other people today. I can only imagine how many other families around Ohio are thanking God today.
