Seeking advice for 1981 Topps grading nuances

I purchased a case of 1981 Topps vending and was just looking for any pointers that anyone could offer me before I started going through the case.....I am looking for generalities that would serve me well when looking at all cards, and also any subtle things to look for on any specific cards (namely the stars).....also, for any 1981 set collectors, if there is anything I can keep an eye out for on your behalf, let me know....

I would say pending what you paid for the case its a bad investment overall
for I have cracked a few and seen my share of vending 81's and the story is
this. Even if the case was shipped to you straight from topps you will yield no
more than 125 9's and thats a given fact. Will you see a ten I doubt it.
These are the factors that make vending suck in 81.
A: On the inside of the box itself there is a lip which pretty much dents the
same corner on every card.
B. Storage for the borders will be dingy and the cards just not that crisp.
C: And finally its vending from 81.
So before you really get geared up for a loss I'd consider even cracking it!!!
Just my 2 cents with over 250 thousand cards scoured.
What would you recommend as being the best packaging to get 81 topps for grading? Vending, rack pack, cello, wax, etc. ?
As a general rule goes as follows.
Rack
Wax
Cello
Vending
