Should I switch to 75's from 76's?

Collectors,
For the past few months, I have been collecting 1976 Topps Baseball and am currently 7th in the set registry with a completion of 16.82%. But I am seriously considering switching to 1975 Topps baseball, instead. For one, I think I like the design better as I am big fan of fun, bright colors on cards (probably why I am so into 1965's!). I also can't see much of a difference between PSA 8's and PSA 9's in 1976 and I can't see why a 9 is worth 7 times the amount of a PSA 8. I want to hear from some of you collectors who collect one or the other or both. What do you think? Why did the SMR go from $35 to $55 for a 1976 PSA 9 a couple months ago? That only seemed to flood the eBay market, driving prices down anyways. A PSA 9 is worth $35 for 1975 per the SMR and that seems a lot more reasonable, especially considering the colored edges. Is it easy to see the difference between a PSA 8 and a PSA 9 in 1975? Let me know what you think.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Is it easy to see the difference between a PSA8 and a PSA9? Depends on whether you buy the card or the holder. By asking the question in the first place, it at least implies that you're not interested in just buying holders with "Mint 9" on them. Just like with 76s, the ability to consistently differentiate 9s from 8s will come with time, effort, experience and familiarity with the characteristics of the issue.
Basically, there ain't no magic answer man.

We need one more friend to sell dups too!
I thought that was a typo?
And I agree with Caramels. If you're gonna collect 1975's, go with the minis.

I thought that was a typo?"
I thought it was, too!
Did someone verify that yet? I was afraid to bring it up because I thought that if PSA fixed it, the 1976 guys would be all over me for inadvertantly "devaluing" their PSA 9-laden collections.
