TODAY, I JUST MIGHT DO IT

I finished up my work in Prescott Valley, and am sitting at the Cottonwood Library killing time. A few more minutes and I am on my way to my favorite coinshop with 3 $100 bills clutched tightly in my grubby little fist. I've had my eye on a very nice 1917 Type 1 SLQ. Today may be the day!

    Yessir. The strike is so strong on this specimen that you can see it was a chilly day when it was minted.

    Didn't do it. Took it out into the bright AZ. sunlight and looked at it with a 10X loupe. THEN I could see the very, very light hairlines criss crossing the devices. Man, the coin looked beautiful in the fluorescents.
