the barber half dollar, actually i think the saint is the prettiest design.
The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.
Thanks, Johnny... now I will have nightmares about that coin tonight...

Russ, I feel for the lady! Did she have any input to this commemorative design?

geeee i dont think i could chose just one. each time i see all the diffrent coins that were made, the history of thier times could tell so many stories......1793 chains, flowing hair designs, seated dollars, 1/2 cents, large cents, proof gold. the list goes on and on.....i guess i like them all.
I love that coin, but think the 1907 High Relief St Gaudens beats it out as the most beautiful US Coin design. Can you imagine if the High Relief also showed "one side" of Miss Liberty aka the type 1 SLQ? I bet that would be a sight for sore eyes. Would be quite a "stand out" coin with that high relief!

The Ex-"Crown Jewel" of my collection! 1915 PF68 (NGC) Barber Half "Eliasberg".
Once again resides with Legend, the original purchaser "raw" at live Eliasberg auction. Laura and i "love" the same lady!
Some of my own personal favorites (in no particular order): Saints, Morgans, Standing Liberty quarters (especially Type One), Barbers (especially halves),, Walkers, Indian cents, Ten Liberties, Seated halves, 1836-39 halves, Trade dollars, Mercury dimes. I have a lot of favorites. If I had to pick one, it probably would be a three-way tie between Saints, Walkers, and Standing Liberties.
I find the SBA just as bad as the "Sad Sack". Nothing personal!

the most beautiful coin in existance like a fool i sold to steve o'day who was working for greg roberts at the time as he was getting rolling good at a 1990 cental states show for $7500 was a pcgs 1879s ms67dmpl dollar. i made it out of a dealers raw inventory for $600. this coin is the most intense full bore maximum degree "pink ultra" cameo in total existance. the frost was so impacting and so swirling of a "pink/red" florescent frost look and the mirrors so jet black and deep from a non-reworked pair of dies i could kick myself a hunnerd times for letting it go. i'm been in constant search for it ever since. today, it's a 68dmpl mark-free,1000% struck and as God-inspired awesome as they ever got
I love coins with high relief, with textured fields, or with concave fields--1921 Peace Dollars, 1916 Walkers, Type I Buffalos.
Off the top of my head (and maybe to be a contrarian), I'll say the Liberty Cap Large Cent. The beautiful curve of the cheek is enough to make you fall in love!

I'd say $20 St. Gaudens, 50c Walking Liberty or a deep cameo Barber Proof 50c

I don't mean to be ignorant, but that special olympics coin is real? (as in, not a mock-up?)
The Texas Commem or the $20 Kellogg Gold Territorial are stunningly beautiful. However, my heart will always belong to DCAM Barber proofs.

More than a year and a half ago, I started two threads, "Which U.S. coin series do you think is the prettiest?" and "And The Votes For Prettiest Coin Are In."
These coins were mentioned at least twice:
Saints (all) 15 mentions
Walkers 12
Standing Liberty quarters 9
Barbers (all) 5
Silver American Eagles (all) 5
Trade Dollars 5
Gold American Eagles 4
Morgans 4
Mercury Dimes 3
Seated coins (all) 3
Ultra High Relief Saints 2
Draped Bust coins (all) 2
$2 ½ Indians 2
Platinum American Eagles 2
Franklins 2
(The Anthony dollar was also mentioned twice, but one of those mentions was followed by “….not!!!” so I think I will just “not!!!” count that one!)
. The ones that got mentioned once were :
Sacagawea Dollar (by MacCoin)
Draped Bust coins with Small Eagle (by TomB)
Proof Platinum Eagles (by DcamMike1)
$3 gold (by RareDate)
Indian Cent (by me)
$10 Liberties (by me)
1836-39 halves (by me)
Silver American Eagle Proofs (by DeepCoin)
Seated Halves (by me)
Seated Dollars (by ElContador)
Classic Head half cent (by ElContador)
Patterns (by FactFinder)
Earlier U.S. Commemoratives (by Kejun99)
Lincolns (by Merz2)
Peace Dollars (by Spencer195)
Ike Dollar (reverse only, by Spencer195)
Anthony Dollars (reverse only, by Spencer195)
Barber Halves (by Braddick)
$5 Indian (by Swanger)
Liberty Nickel (by Michael)
20 cent piece (by sjbrian)
Buffalo Nickel- (by Coinhead 1)
Amazonian pattern (by Shironiichan)
The Ike (and Anthony) dollars did get one vote, but only for the reverse.
Some of the coins mentioned were not circulating coins. Also, some coins are listed both in a more general category and a more specific category.
This question, or a similar one, has come up before in these forums:
