Need pop for 1859 O Seated Liberty Half MS67

My PCGS report is over a year old and shows a pop of -0- in MS67. NGC shows the same number. A guy has a PCGS graded MS67 1859 O for sale ($39,000) on Yahoo with a very reasnable BIN. Did I mention this is his first auction? Are people actually finding 150 year old coins that will grade MS67? Or did he make a very expensive purchase at his first show?

PCGS Pop shows 1 graded, My information shows 1 in the pop report for January '03, and it is still 1 to date. I also checked back to October 2002, and it shows 1 as well. Careful.....

Do you think this was a 66 that was resubmitted?

If the half is from Harry Laibstein, I've seen it a couple of times, very closely, at the Long Beach show. A extremely nice coin, but way out of my league. I ended up buying two seated halves from him: 1861-O PCGS MS-62 and a 1875-S PCGS MS-64, my icon.

Laibstein did in fact have this coin at the FUN show this year. The coin has amazingly clean surfaces even for a 67...but has been dipped to the point of looking unnatural. It had that somewhat burnt look in my opinion. I had heard it was relatively new to the market. Probably graded 67 the first time it was see white. It must have been deeply toned to force someone to dip it. This is one of those coins that PCGS loves to see. Beaming white and bright. Seemed like it was a tough sell at the $30,000 level (or even high 20's) so I'm surprised that the coin is being offered for so much more on yahoo.
