Economy Turn Around Update

Hello Everyone,

We are making some positive progress on the economy turn around times. Last week the turn around time (Defined as the average age of the 20 oldest orders) was 76 calendar days. This week it is 68 days. Note that this is the worst case scenairio and if you sent in coins today I think you'd get them back considerably sooner as I expect the turn around time to come down sharply on a weekly basis for the next month or two. This is not the way we like to do business and we appreciate everyone's patience. I will update everyone each Tuesday on the turn around times and our progress in reducing them...

ECONOMY TURN AROUND TIMES (calendar days)

4-7...76 days
4-14...68 days

MODERN TURN AROUND TIME
4-14...39 days

    Ken,

homerun deserves a little public thanks from this collector ... my last submission was sitting there at 49 biz days and at finalization with perhaps several more days to go and David made sure it got done that day after I PM'd him... and, as I said, either my grading skills are getting better or PCGS' are. image
  • Gee, when I saw the title of this thread, I thought David was about to give us good news about his predictions for an upswing in the U.S. economy !!!! Alas, the topic at hand is considerably less earthshaking !!!

Not to take any credit from where it is deserved, but I'm curious as to submissions since the turnarond times have exploded. Is the decrease in time also linked to a slow down in submissions?

David, why are you giving us the time in calender days, but on the submission center, it says 60 business days. For those who don't want to do the math, 60 business days is 12 weeks or 84 calender days.

I will say your time is improving, my last submission was posted Friday, on the 45th business day (63 calender days). This is still too long in my opinion, and to help you get your times even shorter, I am not sending any economy submissions in. I'll still use PCGS for coins that warrant the regular service level.

    How about guaranteed resubmissions?

Still no action on the one I submitted on 1/15/03.
    When in doubt, don't.
