Another Major Ike Purchase

Picked up a 1977-D on 40% silver planchet Ike today. Graded PCGS AU58.
I've never even seen one before.
Bought a 74-D on 40% silver planchet last week.
Anyone want to sell me the 76-D 40% silver planchet next week to complete the trifecta!!!

Whats the pop on those, 4 or 5?

You need to go over to the BST forum and add a link for your pop top proofs.

oops!!! with regard to the 1974-D, i had forgotten about the blue Ike's and was thinking bicentennials.
You bring out a very good question.
Breen states that the silver planchets were mixed in with clad proof planchets that were deemed "unfit" for proofs and subsequently shipped to the Denver Mint.
Not sure if this is true or not.
Can anyone else confirm?
As for pop's, Breen says 30 74-D's and 15 77-D's. I do not have current pops, but a few years ago there were less than 3 74's and no 77's in the reports ANACS/NGC. Fred Weinberg says 8-10 74-D's and half that number of 77-D's.
I've bought and sold 4 of the 74's and none of the 77's, so I think the ratio of 74 to 77 is less than both Breen and Weinberg. total number I think are between Fred's number s and Breen's.
I think the 76 is the rarest of all. Maybe less than 3-4 pieces.

They must have done this, or the good old secret service would be out trying to get these coins back.
