Riddance> I thought the same thing. That black background he put behind the card when he scanned it makes it REAL tough to see details. And while I'm not in that market, if I was gonna drop long green on a card like that I'd better see ALL the details beforehand.

yeah, since it isnt centered in the holder its hard to tell except for the bottom left edge. it looks a bit off centered, and almost diamond cut. plus the top left corner is a bit weak

i wish people would learn to put a black bordered card against a white background, and vice versa

If you are looking at a black bordered card against a black background and can't tell where the card ends and the background begins, that is one very sharp clean solid black bordered card. Only along the bottom edge can you tell there is actually a card there.

If you copy the image down and reverse the image(see attached scan), you can get a better look at centering. The card is a little under the left lip of the holder, so the centering is actually even a little better than it looks. It's a nice looking card, regular or reverse.

I vented a bit about scans of '71s against a black background earlier today on the other Board. Why do so many dealers present the cards this way? On top of that, the scan really isn't large enough. For those two reasons alone, I don't even bother bidding on those auctions.

Bad scans are silly really. White borders lid up; Dark borders lid down. Its as simple as that. In fact you can even memorize those directions.
Repeat after me...white borders lid up: dark borders lid down...Repeat after me...white borders..........
