I'm me...no one else. I have enough trouble being one person. Besides, Ursabear spelled tall wrong. I spell it tawl.

I'd say there are not many with multiple identities. Myself, I do not. However, if I got banned for some reason (not likely) I probably wouldn't bother coming back.

    Two Dogs,

Nope.....I missed, but I'm not too good with western snakes. Most of the herps I dealt with were from Louisiana and east of the Mississippi River. I'll look up the scientific name of the Bull Snake and let you know.

Elaphe obsoleta is our local rat snake which looks quite similar, only more gray in color, and probably not quite as large as that guy.

That's one handsome animal. How long is he?

Pituophis melanoleucus according to a quick search on google.

    GSAGUY

Edited to add: I see that it's also called the Pine Snake in the eastern U.S. I've seen these critters in Mississippi, but again, they appear more gray in color.

  • Six and a half feet long, and that's with a good portion of tail missing. It was crossing a dirt road that's fairly well travelled, so I stopped and carried him across and let him go in the Mesquite trees. Just in time too. While I was photographing him two pick-up trucks drove by. At least one of them would have tried to run him over, probably.
