Should I tell WWW that the 1869 PR65 5c won't cross?

Undanted by my shameful deceit of another forum member, I haven't changed my ways.

Should I disclose the WWW that this coin did not cross over to PCGS?

The sales price will remain confidential, but do I devulge all that I know?

Should I tell WWW the coin didn't cross

No, not anymore. I sold it a couple weeks ago after getting it back from PCGS as DNC.

The buyer and terms are confidential.

    NICE COIN!
  • Assuming you did disclose it, no worries, caveat emptor.

Assuming you didn't, you're scum, the embodiment of everything that is wrong with this hobby, and a seller to be avoided at any cost.

Since you don't own the coin any longer, I don't see why you should even be concerned.

A seller has no obligation to disclose any such thing. I would hope by now that everyone realizes that when you buy a generic slabbed coin (e.g. just about anything other than material straight out of an auction like Benson, Childs or Eliasberg), by the time you buy it, it has already been submitted, resubmitted, cracked out & resubmitted, dipped & retoned, doctored, submitted for crossover, cracked out again ... etc etc etc ... so telling a buyer that a coin didn't cross is pointless, and goes without saying !!!!!

The point is: BUY THE COIN, NOT THE HOLDER !!!

The coin could easily cross on the next attempt.

See, that's the kind of passion I'm looking for.

TWQG - Check the original thread. I think it was best described as 65.2 +/- 0.7

Should you tell him? If he asks. DNC isn't as bad as NG.
Since you now fall into the catagory for booting as defined in PCGS's allegedly consistantly inconsistant bootem while you mad policy you fall under #2 & #3 <<We made the decision early on not to censor the boards with the exception of profanity, obvious rip-off attempts, and off-the-wall blatantly vicious behavior toward other members>>
See ya across the street soon!
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Nothing crosses at PCGS or even NGC. So this is a non-statement.
It's like saying you tried to jump over the moon but couldn't.

LOL Roadrunner. I think this coin can cross. I would inquire (by inquire I mean review, and grade protection) to NCS at the chances of removing some, you couldn't remove all of the flyspecks without messing with the toning, of the "debris" clinging to some of the devices, without affecting the toning. I think it's doable, and once it's done, send it on over to NGC. There is no reason why it shouldn't five. If I wasn't in a rush to drum up some funds for a bigger fish, that coin wouldn't have seen the light of day for quite a while. I liked it as a five before, and still do. It's a coin with character!
As far as the question posed...........if the buyer asks, you SHOULD tell the truth, about the failed crossing attempt. Of course, as Roadrunner suggested, a failed crossover shouldn't be a surprise. image
