Advanced Fishing Lure Acquisition

Looks a little weakly struck, but you can't deny the eye appeal of the piece. image

I don't think there is a trout anywhere that could resist that one.

  • I like that one very much. Great find Keith!

If anybody sees one of those 1945-S NGC Mercs in 67 (not FB) with the untoned Fasces and rainbow colors going out from there I would appreciate a pointer.
  • Awesome lookin' coin, Keith. Love those Rainbow Rims! image

    Hey Bill:
Sometimes it takes a rainbow to catch a rainbow! image

    Carl:
Funny you should bring up the '45-S. I have 2 that have that kind of toning, and both used to be in NGC holders. Why so many of these with that awesome color. On mine, the fasces seem to glow white and is "bracketed" with rainbow colors. One was a 67FB and one was a 67. They are both in PCGS holders now @ 1 point lower! image

    Rainbow Mercs and
    FULL Heads RULE!
  • The coin is a low-end 67 in my opinion, not too bad on marks, but slightly mushy strike. No bands, so not even close there, but still high eye appeal. Proof that the NGC * does not designate a coin that is PQ for the grade, just PQ eye appeal. I picked this one up from board member MrDQ (greattoning), and am very pleased with it. Very similar in color to the original pics in the auction.
