How fellow forum members are torturing me in good natured fun.

I am respencting forum rules , but I would like others to know that it really hurts like hell.

I wish the winner of this coin the greatest joy with it and I am also wondering what it will finish at.

I thought that under the Geneva convention, this form of torture was banned by 109 countries?

Just curious, what happened to the thread when you called it?

  • Brian, I'm not sure what "forum rules" you are referring to, but if you like it, bid away.

If someone complains, ask them how they'd feel about non-competition if it was their coin that was being sold.

Since I had this one on my "Watch List" well before the initial Thread here, how about you PM me
your high bid and I'll place it for you?! image

High bidder is Bear. If he wants it, I doubt anybody else is going to get it.

The toning on this coin reminded me of this article that I've recently read. I have a couple of Roosevelt dimes with simular toning so I'm not bashing here. I just think this is interesting reading on toned coins.

Compare greattoning's other Merc.....Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I think the 36P blows the 37S away??? I love GREEN on coins!!!! Green dimes, green 57D and 58D Franklin halves, green Morgan dollars, heck, even attractive PVC on bullion pieces!!!! And when the coin also has red -- it's Christmas!!! ....Oh, those ARE Christmas colors..............

Nope, just put a bid on the coin to track it. The bear is not into dimes.

    But you never know????????

Hold on to the duct tape, you may need it for homeland defense. As for the handcuffs, dont lose

Two points to mention since I did not read the rest of the thread yet. First, it's absolutely preposterous and foolhardy to think that just because one person said they want to bid on the coin that you are precluded from attempting to buy it. There is no such "rule". Think about how silly that is. Second, you will likely have to pony up serious money to buy that coin so don't think you will be getting it for around Greysheet.

I'm probably way off here but why does it seem the vast majority of nicely toned Merc dimes are almost always non-FB? Just curious.

  • rainbowroosierainbowroosie Posts: 4,875 ✭✭✭✭
    Bear,
Yes, that was an ANACONDA coin. I bought it.

    Jom,
Four dates with non-FB come to mind that often have very nice color: 45S (the great hoard coin), 42P, 43P and 44P. On the other hand, have seen lots of rainbow toned 41D-45D with FB. This, of course, does not include the 39D FB hoard.
