    He had 1 off night, so how is his career coming to an end. With the lack of good centers in the NBA, Shaq can last 5-10 years. Not much competition.

    i don't even care about his bad game. I was referring to his legs(knee and toes) He is huge and putting all that weight on it can't be too good. The medicine he is taking makes him sick and he is worried about the long term risks. I don't think he will retire at the end of this season myself but i see it in the next 3-4 years.

    If he wins another championship this year then I think he will consider retiring. I mean, what more can you do? Go out on top and take care of your body. I think Shaq will show up in the playoffs like he usually does. He usually coasts until the last 5-10 games before the playoffs, then stops eating the Whopper Combo's and starts playing basketball.

    I think the Lakers are nowhere near as good as last years team even though Kobe is exploding this year. They look flat and the effort is not there.

    I really hope these guys don't win the championship, it will only show that a team like the Lakers can half a$$ it all year and in the end beat out teams that worked their butt off for the playoffs. If the Lakers gave it their all and Shaq tried to stay in shape they probably would win the championship for another 3 years in a row riding Kobe and Shaq. Kobe is getting better, Shaq is getting slower and bigger. Will see what happens...I'm looking forward to the playoffs...and to the Lottery draft (GO RAPTORS!!!)

    first off, Carder I enjoy the picture. He does look like steeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    I do see the lack of effort you are talking about in the lakers this year. But only in certain players. Kobe has tried more this year then any other. I wouldn't be surprised if soon they trade alot of their players and start building around kobe more then Shaq. Probably this summer or next. Rick Fox seems not to be putting effort into it to me. But maybe that is just me.

    I do agree, Kobe has been flying this year. This is the best I've seen him play ever and he definatly should be considered for MVP (but will lose to KG). The rest of the team has been Blah....Shaq yesterday looked horrible, maybe it was some food poisoning or something. If he looks like that in the playoffs the Lakers will get smoked. This is the Bulls that beat them, they are young but should get smoked by the Lakers.

    Oh Vincecarder.. you're just SO angry/jealous because Vince Carter isn't a leader, never will be and because his team will never win a championship with him as the most important player..

    Now on to Shaq.. I don't think he'll retire after this season or after the next one.. He said he wants 5 rings.. and we all know he will get them.. even though the Lakers look a bit weak right now, we ALL KNOW that they will be ready when the play-offs begin.. especially Shaq.. I'm not saying Shaq is still the man he was 3 years ago, but he's definately better than last year (with all the injuries he had.. I know he's still not 100% recovered, but you can bet your ass that he'll tear up the play-offs)

    Always have to bring up Vince huh taker. This thread is about Shaq not about VC. Am I stating anything wrong about the Lakers? I'm saying they could win as much as they want to but it looks like they don't have the desire anymore. 3 in a row....that's pretty tough, even if they lose they still have 3 rings right. Shaq is taking easy while Kobe is picking up the slack. Everyone else hasn't really done anything.

    well they never really have done something.. not during the regular season that is.. but Horry deliveres game after game in the play-offs, and so does Fisher (and sometimes even George and Fox)

    I hope they are not OK and get knocked off early. I'd love to see a Kings vs. Mavs match up.....heck anybody other than the Lakers....so tired of seeing them get their way with the refs. I hope they at least try to call Shaq bulling over people in the key this year....

    how can you say shaq is going downhill? he was just named player of the week! thing is he was finally getting some touches and not just go down and give it to Kobe everytime...Kobe is great i know, but offense should definately run through Shaq, he just makes everybody better, and makes everybody elses job easier

    and why do people think lakers guys other than shaq/kobe have to be great to win? two of the best players in the world on one team, the rest of the guys live up to their role as a role player...its not like they have to anything more than that...

    also only reason you try to cut on tmac is because your angry that he left toronto..seems to me it was the best thing that ever happened to him, and nobody can deny raptor fans hate tmac with a passion!

    Shaq is still the man in the NBA, with tmac and kobe close behind, then the next tier is like KG, Duncan...I think he will go 2, 3, maybe 4 more years...Just because other guys have better numbers means nothing, Shaq draws more attention than anybody and just helps his team win more-so than anybody else...

    Shaq and Kobe are amazing players and have carried the team to 3 championships.....just not to sure they can do it this year.

    As for "cutting" Mcgrady....man I was one of the biggest Mcgrady fans when this guy was a nobody and still cheer for him now. Just made a funny pic with him because he does look like the big cheese.

    wow, i have liked punkin head since he was a rc...didnt think many others did though...but still its obvious rap's fans hate him, he gets booed everytime he touches the ball

    Yea....we do boo him in Toronto because they were offered Larry Hughes, #1 draft pick and others for him (more than what we got). Instead he did lie and say he was considering staying in Toronto.

    Either way I still cheer for him and make money from his cards so I don't have a problem with him. Just hope he actually wins a playoff series this time around....still looking for his first like KG...

    Shaq is fading. If he were to stop taking his meds which he wants to do then he would retire in a year or two. He isn't nearly as dominant as before and the team I believe is turning in a new direction.

    umm.. 8kobe, have you ever heard of sarcasm? Shaq isn't 'fading' damn man he's still one of the top 5 in the league
