Help on this 64D Roosevelt - DDR ???

I am attaching some micro photos of the reverse of this 1964-D Roosevelt. Does this look like the 1964-D DDR or is it just strike doubling ??

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I dont have the reference handy, but there are certain things to look for when trying to determine doubled die vs machine doubling........ I looked at all your pics (very nice btw......) and I believe its machine doubling....... I'll try and locate the reference Im thinking of and PM it to you if you turn on your PM thingy

What kind of camera do you use to get those closeups?

Surprisingly, I use a TOY - - an Intel Play QX3 Microscope that hooks directly to the computer. It has three powers, 10x, 60x and 200x (which is virtually useless) the lighting is almost impossible to adjust and it isn't even realistic.

BTW - for the person who said something about PMing me - how do you turn that on ???

If anything it's machine doubling. No notching at the corners of the letters, no separation lines either. If the doubling is flattened and takes away from the profile of the letters, it's machine doubling.

to turn on your PM capability, go to your "profile" and look for the place to turn it on !

I can't really tell. I see it but I don't know if its machine doubling or a DDR. Is there a reference 64DDR to compare?

Here are some pics from an unattributed 64D dime that I have. It's a late die state coin so the definition isn't the best. The doubling is on all the legends, but it's strongest from noon to six. Hope it helps.




Another shot that shows the notching on the lower right of the E and the upper left of UNUM better.
