QUESTION FOR THE BOARD..need help..which card should i get?

I have one card that has more value to my local card shop dealer than me (he collects this player). so he told me i can have what ever i want with about $75 amount of dollars. i liked two cards. which one should i get? i picked these two out. he said he will trade for any one of them. i like them both, so which one would you pick?

Derek Jeter Game Used Jersey bv $80

or a press plate numbered to 4 (not serially numbered to 4, just 4 of them made)-no bv due to scarcity

let me know. thanks. i like the jeter b/c i'm a jeter fan, but i also like the press plate because of how rare it is. thanks everybody.

Who is the press plate of? What is it out of? Is it listed in Beckett that the print run is 4 or did the dealer just tell you that. What card are you giving up because game used is dead and press plates are not exactly the hottest of items.

i'm giving him a don mattingly autograph card bv $80. i know it's not a good deal on my part, but i'll be getting something i like. i can get one of the two items plus a couple packs of cards, according to him. he told me that it is numbered to 4. the player is a common. i also don't remember the brand.

i've tried selling it here before, not a single offer for 3 weeks. i think the jeter (bv $75) and a couple packs for the mattingly auto (bv $80) sounds fair. but i'm not sure of the press plate numbered to only 4. if it was a 1/1, i would have traded it, but it's a 1/4. would the bv of this be around $50 ish..? i don't know.

actually, the mattingly belongs to my brother, but i'm trying to do a three way deal. he's interested in something i like, and he'll trade me the mattingly. the stuff i am giving him is a bunch of $15 insert and game used shane battier and jay williams cards (total $100...ish).

Very bad idea to buy either card! I'd go with the Press Plate if anything but only if it's from Stadium. $75 can go so far on ebay! Wasting it on a Game Jersey card is just not smart. If you wait a few months you'll find out that you can buy that card for about 1/3 of the price. Buy up all the unique items that you can find!

the thing is that the card shop dealer will bring his price up for the jeter once the baseball season starts (regular season, not pre). i like that card numbered to 4, but i don't think it bv more than $80, probably like $50. you guys are right, i should keep it and trade/sell it to this board. thanks for your suggestions.

Out of the three, Mattingly AU, Jeter GU, or Press Plate /4, I'd probably take the Mattingly just because it is an auto. Because of the number of game used on the market, you could easily pick up a Jeter GU'ed. If the Press Plate was 1/1 of a decent player, I'd do it, but 1/4 and a common, I wouldn't take it over the Mattingly. Just my input.

Keep the Matingly auto. The Jeter jersey is junk and you could probably pick it up for $20. Press Plates just suck especially one of commons out of junk sets. The Matingly is a far better card, I would not trade the Matingly for both of those cards.

I would advise you to go for cash if possible, even as low as $50. If you keep your eyes open you could probably get both of the cards your looking at for just a little more than that.

Keep the Mattingly or trade it for an auto that you'd want. Game-used can be easily had these days and a press-plate of a nobody (like Warrick Dunn), isn't worth the auto.

wow! i didn't know i'd get this many inputs! also, when i put this mattingly for trade/sell like a couple of months ago on this board, no body wanted it for three weeks. i put it on today and i already got 4 pm of people wanting it. so i'll keep the mattingly and trade it on this board. the dealer gave me a $20 offer. i'll see what happens here. by the way, the mattingly belongs to my brother, but i can trade it and sell it or sell it on his behalf.
