    He better be (starting the set), cuz I was #2 bidder on that one at $25. He cost me $133 by sniping me. I decided to go after the PSA 9 Stephenson the following day and won the thing. Caught flyliner playin' a pup. That don't happen too often.

    No, don't worry, I'm not starting a '67 set!

    The reason I bid on this auction is because I'm going to put together a framed art piece showcasing the artwork for the back of the card that I bought from the Topps Vault.

    Here's the auction for the art...

    1967 Topps BB Original Art Stephenson MET

    What I am going to do is have two copies of the card, one with the front facing, and the other with the back facing so that you can see both sides. Then underneath will be the art picture. I am looking at PSA 8 or higher for both cards.

    I attempted to snipe the other '67 PSA 8 that ended recently but was outbid. I put a snipe in for the PSA 9 but the snipe ended up at only 50 percent of the final price, so I got creamed on that one.

    I have thought many times about doing that very thing. I just haven't found one yet that caught my fancy.

    This should come out nice being that I'm going to focus on good matting and framing.

    I chose this card for a few reasons. One, the auction for the art was ending soon and the bids were low, and two, John Stephenson isn't Mickey Mantle, so I figured I could pick up 8's for a reasonable price.

    Short of obtaing the original negative or printing plate, this is as close as one can get to any sort of "one-of-a-kind"ness for a card. It'll be a good conversation piece for anyone who collects cards, and possibly even for those who don't.

    That's a pretty cool idea. Please post a photo of it here when you have it completed.

    I don't really display any of my individual cards. I've got sets, wax packs, cellos, and rack packs (opened and unopened), wrappers, wax boxes, and uncut sheets displayed to some extent, but nothing really unique like that. I think I'm going to come up with an idea along those lines. Thanks for the idea. Does anyone have any other small, display-worthy collections like this? I'd like some more ideas (photos would be great).
