CLASSICS

coin collectors.......they are a great bunch of people.....we hold history in our hands, we share with others what we know, and sometimes what we dont know, and what we think...maybe not always what we want to here, but more often than not its an honest answer....why are we all on this forum? because we love to collect. weather its a very good lincoln cent, or a high dollar investment grade money maker down the road......we look at our coins, and say tell me a story, history will speak to you if you listen carefully....the past is just that to some people, something that has happened long ago....but not us, why because we are coin collectors....we have the very best of both worlds, now the present, and the past....i see george washington at valley forge in the dead of winter asking his men to hold on just a little while longer when i look at the quarter series.....and old ben franklin telling me about his printing press when i read the redbook, and look at his coins.....and i see abe lincoln growing up in a log cabin in kentucky, if he could only see my house!.....sometimes we rant and rave at one another, but when the chips are down, and you truely needed somthing i beleive all would come to your side, and help.........remember the movie...its a wonderful life, staring jimmy stewart........when you enjoy your hobby, and share it with others......those words come true........why, because we are coin collectors, and with friends to share it with, it is a wonderful life

How true that collectors are a great bunch of people. Just today, a board member let me know he's sending me a book I don't have! (Thanks, you-know-who!) And I didn't realize for years how much about history I learned by learning about coins.

One more thing - I love to read a post that doesn't say anything about money. Thanks, Ron.

Absolutly right...with some exceptions...we are a great bunch. I recently met a few of our colleagues thru a "Coin Swap". Great experience. twowood

Well said Classics...may I add...we as collectors are cast from the same endless die of caring and we proudly show others history in our hand as evidence...
