Free Opinions at Long Beach show

I'll be at the PCGS booth giving free grading opinions this Friday from 1:00 to 5:00. I'd love to look at your coins, meet message board members, and I'm willing to talk to you about almost anything.

Stop by if you have some coins you like to show me or if you just want to chat.

David Hall

Sounds like fun. I wish I was attending that show. Almost worth a trip from the COLD Wisconsin Weather.

  • David that is such a kind offer, promise we won't bring all our coins, but just a few for you to look at, may I also bring you lunch? I've had to book patients for Saturday so I was asking hubby earlier if we should go down on Friday, so Friday it will be. Mark that goes for you too, lunch if you'd like. Can't tell you how hubby and I feel finding this board, such help compared to calling around Santa Monica area, we don't want or expect anything for free, just alittle advice is all we're searching for. We have no heirs, just many coins that we think a collector would enjoy having, but with dad saving during some lean years, want him to get value if any, know what I mean? See you all Friday, Sally

  • Anyone with a finger print slab, this is your chance to show 'The main man' your coin(s).
Friends are Gods way of apologizing for your relatives.
  • Mr. Hall, Since it's unlikely i'm going to be able to attend any national shows anytime in the near future i just wanted to say thank you for all the good things i think you have done for this hobby, anyone who
knows me knows i'm not afraid to speak my mind when i disagree with a dealer or a grading service, but i can't think of many who have helped both the industry and hobby of coin collecting as much as you have and if i never get the chance to say so in person i thought i could say it to you here.

  • David,
My hat is off to you...It is far more important to share your time with those kids, than any coin in this world....Thank you!!

    Hey HRH,
Save me a couple of sample slabs!!! Can't make it to the show to visit. Sorry...
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

    David,

I hope you will be attending the Baltimore show this year. The east coast collectors would love to have the same opportunity to say hello and perhaps have you take a quick look at a coin or two.

Thanks again for bringing some accessability to PCGS. I think you can tell it is greatly appreciated.

David, Your effort on Friday helps to put a human face to the company. It is a good thing,

a nice thing and a true benefit to the collecting fraternity. Thank you. Bear

Me too! There are a LOT of people going to this show that I've wanted to meet. If I had thought about it ahead of time, I probably could have gone, too...I just didn't think my meager coin budget justified the trip. If I could do it again, I would.

I've only been to one major show, and that was before I knew most of the people here. The only person I knew of beforehand that I met was Fred Weinberg...and he didn't really know who I was. image

  • Mr. Hall,

I truly wish I could be there to meet you (and get an opinion or two). LB is too far away from Raleigh for me...

Kudos for offering to do this for folks, and for putting yourself out front and accessible.

    Jim
