Happens to me all the time. I buy Morgan Dollars, and there are about ten sellers I would never deal with, no matter how nice the coin looked. Eventually, you will find what you want from a seller you feel good about.
  • happens regularly.

seems like folks I don't want to buy from have everything I need.

Something else that flipped me out............
I'm watching this toned Morgan from Pinnacle and who bids on it other than AHCollectables!!!
I'm thinking hmmm....we're not sposed to do business with people that do business with Mr. ACG the ScumKing of the hobby.

For a long time I would tell myself I might not buy from certain dealers no matter what. But these days if it's a coin I really really want.... I'll buy a coin from a Dog ( no pun intended dog97 ) if I think it will be a smooth transaction. I won't beg them to take my money though.

I would never buy anything from AHCollectables, no matter what it was. Having a feedback from him would be worse than having a NEGATIVE. It's hard to completely avoid sellers that deal with Mr. ScumKing though.

Did you ask him for his references likes he demands in HIS auctions?

All the dealers here leave him feedback saying he's a fast payer & shipper.

Has anybody ever seen him or know what he looks like? Anybody got a picture?

Hey Dog- you forgot about the bounty for those negative emails about his poor company.

There is a guy over on RCC that has a picture of him. I will drop him an email and see if he can send it to me.

like longtimecollector said, I hate it when my search hits on a nice looking CC dmpl like a 83 or 84 really nice & frosty looking about a $400 or $500 coin and it's in an ACG holder and AH is the seller. I look & look & it looks good, real nice & prety. The bid is about $100 and I'm thinking that could be a cherry. Watch it for a couple of days as it gets bid up wondering if the other bidders see something I dont. Be thinking man that's one that's really graded right, nothing's wrong with it. It keeps getting bid up & up. It finally stops just a little short of what a PCGS model would go for then I start thinking man what if ACG was really wrong? It looks better than a 65. It looks like a PQ65 anyway, maybe I better jump on it. I could prolly email AH and ask him not to leave me feedback to scar my record and as long as I don't post any show off auctions on the board for 30 days nobody will ever know.
But I never do. I just think about it.

I've seen him at shows. Talked to him a few times. Someone here posted a picture of him at a show.

That was a hidden camera shot when he was asked if ACG overgraded coins.

Actually Russ, about 20 years ago, Alan H was a dealer in morgan dollars. I bought

a number of nice coins from him, but in those days, he was not quite as hairy as you show,

in what I take to be a recent picture. In those years, he was a pretty good guy to do bussiness with.

I am truly sorry that his reputation has suffered so badly over the intervening years.
