Engraving position open at Phila. Mint...

PhillyJoePhillyJoe Posts: 2,702 ✭✭✭✭
Too bad my artistic ability is limited to stick figures. The Mint is looking for a sculptor/engraver: "must have a strong sense of classic design, artistic training and experience to create original design concepts and render them in low relief coin models"

Send resume to:

U.S.Mint
Human Resources Division
151 N. Independence Mall East
Philadelphia, PA 19106
Attn: Ruth E.R. Cosby

Call (215)408-0253 for application package. Deadline to apply is 2/24/03.
This position is listed in today's Phila. Inquirer.

(I couldn't help myself; I called the number and asked "got any proof JFKs? and hung up!)

Joe

We are finite beings, limited in all our powers, and, hence, our conclusions are not only relative, but they should ever be held subject to correction. Positive assurance is unattainable. The dogmatist is the only one who claims to possess absolute certainty.

The only problem is that all future coin designs from penny on up to 100 Platinum Eagles will have Frankie on the Obverse!image

I wonder what they want a person like this for? They are not needed to make the 2nd grade designs that the mint has put out recently.

So are the current coin designs.

  • Save money with low relief coins. Lets get a sponser! or rent out space on the rev of all the coins! We can make money that way and use it to mint in high relief. Come on how about Coca Cola? Have a nice big high relief soda can on the rev! Whos with me?

  • Did one of the engravers leave? Who was it? image
