Slabbed Morgan - What's Your Grade...

I bought this Slabbed Morgan and was wondering what some of you would grade this. I am wondering if it is a canadate for regrading. Thank you for your help.

GREAT pictures. Sure looks upgradable. Makes me wonder if there is something not seeable in a pic that kept the grade at 64.

I'ld agree with 64 but not much luster in it.

Looks PLENTY clean enough, but it also looks like it doesn't have "the look" (a phrase that basically means great lustre) that PCGS wants for the MS65 grade level.
    When in doubt, don't.

Pictures can be very deceiving, this needs to be seen in hand to tell if it's got luster or not. It looks gerat from a standpoint of few marks to hold it back, but the luster can't be seen properly.

AU 58 or ms 63. The 81-s is usually well struck yours is either worn or poorly struck.
Look at the wings, arrow tips and the wreath on the reverse as well as the hair on the obverse.

P.S. If you want honest opinions don't put ncg64 as part of the pictures file name.

It LOOKS 65 but it depends on how severe the reed marks are that go across from the chin back to the jawline.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Yea, the links give away the 64 grade. Fields clean enough to go higher, but I agree with earlier post that to get there you need the luster. Ain't there on this one.

MS64 is it really lacking the luster as i am seeing it?

although your coin is clean, it lacks that 65 look, like other people have already said.

There is more to a grade than hits/lack of hits; strike, luster & eye appeal are other aspects of a coins final grade opinion.

BTW, I also doubt PCGS would cross it, their typical policy has been to take the cream of NGC slabs... and for an 81-S Morgan, IMO, that is a below average specimen (going by the scan). 81-S should have lots of luster and a strong strike.
