Some cool FUN coins

I spent as much time taking pictures as I did browsing at this show, filling up 1024 MB of memory. Most were coins other collectors brought for display or sharing, so I'll post a few here. Special thanks to Rick Snow for allowing me to do this at his booth.
A gentleman from PA brought two boxes of coins that were the highlight of the show for me. He majors in 1794 Large Cent varieties and minors in colorful proof Indian cents. His IHs were incredible, all having pristine mirrored surfaces with rich colors in beautiful patterns. The best of the best. I didn't even attempt to image most of those with a makeshift camera setup. He also brought along two of his 1794s (raw), and I have to start out with one of those:
Here's a large version of the obverse: link. The full detail and lustrous chocolate brown surfaces of this coin blew me away.
I had the pleasure of meeting Boiler78 (Mark), and it turned out he was the one who originally bought this coin out of the Kosoff collection. It's an 1863 J-300 pattern (PCGS MS65PRCAM) now owned by a man who provided the 12 piece 1858 pattern set displayed by Rick Snow. He had PCGS notch the holder so the reeded edge could be seen:
Among the 1858 patterns were these beauties:
J-192
J-198
J-211
The collector who provided the patterns actually went around to dealers tables to borrow a few coins for imaging -- they certainly wouldn't have given them to me! Here's one of those, a raw 1820 Large cent with blue irridescent toning:
A larger version: link
I have tons more, but I'll finish this post with a gorgeous 1897 MS67RD Indian cent. It was one of 3 ex. Epstein IHs a collector was nice enough to bring for me to image:

thanks Shylock
Great pictures! I look forward to seeing each and everyone. The only thing surpasing your photography are the coins. Be sure to do the very largest pictures you can. You can even mail me ( all 1024MB) if they are too big to post.
Thanks
Tom
It was a pleasure meeting you and Mike at the show. I am sorry I couldn't stick around to watch you work. How in the world did you get the edge reeding shot on the J300? Amazing images!
I was standing right next to you at Rick Snow's table when you were taking pictures. Indeed, my kids probably ruined a few of your shots by jarring the table! () Anyway, I wondered if the person taking pictures was perhaps you, but you were so intent I didn't want to disturb your concentration by asking!
The patterns that Rick Snow had displayed were nifty. But, they were mixed PCGS and NGC slabs. I thought they would have been more eye appealing in a uniform slab. However, that's a small quibble--just seeing them together was a treat and the owner is to be congratulated!
By chance, did you get a picture of Rick Snow's MS65 1856 FE cent?
Mark
My 1866 Philly Mint Set
Mark(2) -- That's wild! A couple of men came by with their kids, wish you had said something. I do get a bit zoned out since it's tough to concentrate on 2 square feet of wiggly table on a crowded bourse floor. Sorry -- didn't get the 1856 FE. Lakesammman has one you'd love to see though.
Mark(3) & Lakesammman are right, the 1794 was much more beautiful than my image. The light required to show the detail under those conditions washed out much of the silky smooth lustre.
A few more before I take the dogs out...
Another borrowed coin, a J-163 pattern:
A 1901 PCGS 67RD Indian cent:
And the other amazing 1794 Large cent, this one with some of its original red tone peeking through. Like the other it's twice as nice as this image: link
That 1897 is a pop 1/0 coin - beautiful...purchased when the Epstein collection was distributed and currently very tightly held.
I posted a 1899 in the Registry forum, my favorite purchase from the FUN show. Here it is for this forum.
Another ex. Epstein, an 1898 MS67:
A raw J-193, also imaged at an angle to show the die polish lines:
The "skinny eagle" J-202 and J-203, and a J-208. And a "bloody nose" J-208
09/07/2006
I think that "bloddy nose" 208 is a R-8 variety
mark
Once again, great pics. I was a fool to sell that P66 J208 to the current owner.... Also, the J202 came back from NGC in a body bag - called AT!! It's a beautiful, original coin in my book....owner was going to have it out with Montgomery personally!
Say, can't you think of a better analogy than a pig rooting out truffles..... Though, come to think of it, it fits
Actually dogs are preferred to pigs to dig out truffles because pigs love to eat the truffles.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Here are three that he had upgraded. My next project is learning how to image proofs like these with both the mirrors and colors intact. IrishMike bought a beautiful deep red MS coin I did a lousy job with -- sorry Mike. I had my camera set for PCGS slabs and many of the NGC coins came out dark. All of these are NGC "BN" coins, but are every color but brown.
Edited to add, when are we going to see your 3 beauties Paul?
