A heads up about an Accented Hair that isn't.

RussRuss Posts: 48,514 ✭✭✭
1964 proof roll accented hair all deep mirror The coin pictured in the auction is not the Accented Hair variety. I don't know what is in the rest of the roll, but have sent an eMail inquiry to the seller. My guess is we probably have an honest mistake here.

If the seller gets back to me with scans of the coins and they are actually Accented Hairs, please ignore this post and that auction.image

Russ - Stop being so technical, hair is hair. Sometimes a hare is just a rabbit. Other times

hear is something one does with ones ears. Of course here, is just the opposite , of being there.

So there you have it ....hair, hare, hear and here.image

I could just picture Russ, foaming at the mouth to bid on 20 more AH Kennedy's... image
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Well, this auction is up to $178.50 already, and the seller hasn't responded to my eMails. Staring to look a bit worrisome.

  • Seller also mentions something about triple die obverse. Thought that was a MS variety?image

I have a feeling the high bidder will be a no pay.

Okay, this is getting weird. I finally got the seller to add to the description. Two of the newbs retract their bids, price drops to about $80 (about right for a regular roll). Now, all of a sudden one of the newbs who retracted is back and bid it back up. Shill? But, if he's a shill, why did he retract in the first place?

I also contacted the seller and told him that it's impossible for him to have 20 Accented Hair Proofs. According to the lastest population reports, Russ, myself and a few others here have accounted for all but 2 or 3 of the known examples. image
