Hey dark side guys...a question...

OuthaulOuthaul Posts: 7,440 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have a 1970 Royal Mint Proof Set, Coinage of GB & NI. I also have a small set of the first decimal coins of GB. They're in a small blue plastic book type holder. Any idea of their value? Will send scans.

Cheers,

Bob

Outhaul I am sure if you post this question on the darkside forum someone there will be kind enough to answer your questions. I would but I am not sure myself.

As for smileys ( right click on the picture and go to properties then copy and paste it's location into the box that pops up when you hit the image button):

  • Your proof set (PS26) should have 8 coins. It's one of 750,000 produced and had an issue price of $8.75 USD. Krause market value is $20 in the 2003 Standard Catalog.
The mint set (MS102) has 5 coins and came in a blue "wallet". Krause lists no mintage numbers. It issued for $0.50 US and markets at $2.00.
Dates in both range between 1968 and 1971 depending on denomination.
  • While the 1970 proof set catalogs at $20 it usually isn't too difficult to find it for $12 to $15.

can you post a scan or photo ?

When I scan coins in holders they are too far away from the scan bed and they come out blurry. I could e-mail what I have though. The proceeds of the sale of the 1970 Royal Mint set will be going to Jeremy Katz (Airplanenut) for a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Center. Same goes for an MS 1974 Silver Ike in Gov't package.
