While I don't specialize in them IMHO it is MS65.It has all the luster you could want and the strike looks real good.It doesn't appear to have any hits. What is the grade ?
Nice coin Looks like from where i am sitting a hit or two on the sun a small scratch to the right of 41 unless thats on the holder. The rev is a tad out of focus to comment on. MS62 maybe. I am so confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prooflike,
You are correct that I'm building only in MS64. But, in this case I'm thinking about violating that as this coin is not graded 64. It does have the eye appeal I want in my set. Before I went after it, though, I wanted to get the opinions of the experienced people here.
PCGS AU58, but I'll bail you out of it, just to be a nice guy?

I'm not an expert, but have a few PCGS slabbed Walkers ... do not mean to rain on Russ' parade, but that is either a very poor scan or very poor strike as evidenced by lack of thumb/hand detail and the softness on the eagle's feathers on the reverse. I know S-mints are not known for their great strikes, but ...
Yikes - I found it on ebay in a MS63 slab (or is it?) I am not totally convinced the blow-up is the same coin as the overall picture with the PCGS slab.
Proves once again Russ that photos are very misleading for MS coins.
Yep, it's slabbed as a 63. The seller seems to be reputable, and has a return policy, so I'm not concerned about a scan switcheroo. Though, even the smaller scan looks pretty tasty.
I'm hoping that the scale is universally adopted. It's a variation of the WAG method.
Well, I decided to take a pass on this one. Not that I don't like the look of the coin; I do - a bunch. But, I know I'd just end up looking around for an MS64 shortly after I had this one.
S Mint walkers are notoriuos for weak strikes. I would think there is an upgrade in your future on this one.
BTW: I have a PCGS 42-D MS64 I would part with if you are interested. I also have 46-D and 46-S in PCGS MS64, but I think you passed on the two 46's in the past.
Let me know if any of these are of interest.

Saratoga Frank: I thought it had upgrade possibilities until I saw the original photos from the dealer that sold that 1941-S half. I then realized it is just a very, very nice MS-63.

Should garner real strong 64 almost 65 money. The leg is weakly struck and hand/thumb is non existant.
I can see that this is the kind of coin that Russ likes. The heck with strong strikes and go for the eye appeal.
I like this coin very much for a 64 grade and less so on a 65 grade unless real cheap for the 65 level, price wise.
MS62 maybe. I am so confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
