What coin subjects do you feel strongly about?

No negative here. I don't care how much you hate moderns, XYZ grading service or such
and such coin albums. Are there any coins or related subjects which might push you off
the deep end if someone slams?

I'll even answer this one if anyone asks.

I feel strongly about the following:

1.Those who speak from a position of ignorance without backing it up with facts or valid research.
2.Those who don't respect what others collect and insult them cloaked under the first ammendment.
3.Those who equate mintage figures with grade survival and insult moderns.
4.Those who defend grading services which habitually detract the reputation of the hobby by
gross overgrading and distorting of fact. Such as ACG and ICG.
a.ACG with insulting the PNG survey by claiming affiliation when Hagar owns AH collectibles and
slabs his own and sells it on Ebay.
b.ICG for using a two year snapshot Ebay survey to claim they are number one in Numismatic News.
and saturating the market with false MS/PF70s
5.Coinvault and similar programs for being a demonic blight on the hobby and outright lies.
    6.Those who slam toned coins.

    Happy holidays,
    Brian.

Not much. The only things I don't like strongly are misrepresentations of fact and trollish behavior. I don't mind strongly held opinions, so long as they are thought out and are willing to discuss them without resorting to troglodyte behavior.

Yeah, Morgans & Proof Barbers and comments about how a blast white that is turning brown or has spots from a dip and fingerprints or a coin that was stuck in the attic in a Whitman last year and now has splotchy tone covered with fingerprints is a nice killer L@@K HERE coin just because some big name dealer has it in a big name slab with a big name grade and have the nerve to call it original. image
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Currently, I'm the only one - which is just fine by me.

  • 1) The Mint keeping coins and Proof sets for later sale ( the proof sets that were eventually destroyed )
    2) The Mint not having a deadline to stop selling specific coins (1999 SBA Proof and Uncirculated sets are still available)
  • I feel strongly about the following:

1.Those who appear to speak from a position of authority without backing it up with facts or valid research.
2.Those who seek to silence the opinions of others cloaked under guise of depfending the first ammendment.
3.Those who don't bother to read what people write and instead make up facts that conveniently give them a reason to insult the ability of others.
4.Those who habitually defend grading services they love while refusing to consider coins in any other holders to be anything more than fraudulent junk.
5.Coinvault and similar programs for being a demonic blight on the hobby and outright lies.
    6.Hypocrites.
