My Christmas Present From My Step Daughter

Bless her heart.
My step daughter is 20, and she works in a bank. She has been the scourge of the teller line hoarding silver coins and per my request "any currency that looks different".
Over the course of time, she has brought me a variety of old notes 50's and 100's and silver coins. Nothing special, but she is very proud of herself when shes finds something, and regardless of how ordinary it is, I make sure to make a big deal of it.
So she comes by for Christmas Eve and is beaming when she hands me a Christmas present, shaking it endlessly saying "I wonder what this could be?"
So I open an envelope wrapped in endless paper to find a nice assortment of silver coins. SHe tells me "there are two special ones in there"
So of course, I dump everything out and find two Walking Liberty Halves - a 1916D and a 1927S. THey are both what I would call VG - but not the point.
She tells me she bought these from a woman who works at the bank who got them years ago and sold them to her for a couple of bucks because she knew she collected silver coins for her step dad.
But she still seems very proud of herself as she says "aren't they really nice and shiney?"
Well, I noticed that they were quite lustorous, and felt funny. I said "yes they are, but they feel funny".
To which she of course responds "they were really dirty, so I scrubbed them with toothpaste. You should use it on some of your dirty ones!"
Kids. They really do same the darndest things!

A great, heart-felt present. I just hope she doesn't read the past forum postings about cleaning coins...............
