What did you get others coin or currency for Christmas presents???

Today all my nieces and nephews got SAE's in their birth years and proof sets and mint sets in their birth years. My nephews Sean and nick are showing interest in collecting so they got thier first whitman the cent from 1975 to date. They thing the old and big money is so cool . For them it started with a 1922 and 1923 Peace dollor I gave them 2 months ago.

I've got my dad that nicely toned 1949d or s (cant remember) Franklin and another nice PCGS coin, a 1938d buff in MS66.

I had a nice VF 1853 a/r half for my stepdad but My mother bought it off of me for one of his gifts.

I am still pondering buying myself a chain cent. (wife said she doesn't care)!

I work for a major financial institution, there are 30 people in my department, each one got a
whitman folder for statehood quarters from me. It felt great, now I got them competing to see
    who finishes first.

  • Neices that like coins are getting a mostly VF to BU Dansco United States Twentieth Century Type Coins jalbum. Affordable for them to upgrade and room to add their extra state quarters into these.

My wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas OTHER THAN coins. image

Oh well, the Band of Brothers DVD set sounds cool.

  • Got my brother a 43 D pcgs ms-67 steelie among other gifts. Have noticed him eyeing some of my proof Ikes lately. He does have a birthday in Jan.
  • What day do you guys celebrate Christmas? I thought it wasn't here yet, although most people are responding that they already have or know of their gifts, what fun is that?

  • I have been giving my little neice the SAE every year along with a proof set since she was born
four years ago. Hopefully my brother and my sister in law are keeping these for her and not
stopping by the pawn shop on the way home.

Also I give out SAE's as gifts to my employees with their holiday bonus check. Some really like
them and vow to keep them. Others try to hide the fact they would have rather had a five dollar
McDonald's gift certificate. Regardless, I keep giving them.
