What's a '93 Phila. gold & silver proof set ?

PhillyJoePhillyJoe Posts: 2,700 ✭✭✭✭
Seems a little unusual, has 3 gold proofs, a SAE, and a special medal all from the US Mint. Unusual, but there are two on ebay right now. I've never seen the listed in any price guides or mintages. Any help?

I actually have one of those, the SAE is toning up a storm, I'm waiting to see if I will like the results or not.

It has a 1/2oz, 1/4oz and 1/10pz gold eagle and a SAE and a silver medal in it. Kind of neat.

    They are very beautiful sets.

  • I've seen a lot of things over the years but I have never seen or heard of these sets.
  • Those sets are very hard to come by. While I have never been able to find a definitive number of the sets sold by the Mint - there were only a total of 43,319 $25-P GAE's minted. This number includes those in those in the 4 coin sets. It is also the only time other than the 95 SAE/GAE proof set that such a set was sold by the Mint.

Any rarity would be in the set itself - not the individual coins.
