Do you love Lesher Dollars, like me?

No, not 'do you like them like you like me'.......but do you like Lesher Dollars like I do?

I think they are the coolest. But I've never owned one. I have, though, been to Victor Colorado. Don't blink.

When I got interested in Lesher Dollars, they were about $2000 or less. Of course, at that time I was focused on investment grade material.

Last time I ganderized a small hand full of Lesher Dollars they were like way, way over 2K each.

Any of you have some and what are they indeed currently worth?

I had one of them once, it probably would have graded AU in a holder, it was in nice shape. It was serial # 791. A. Bumstead (or Bumpstead) good for $1.25 in merchandise. I sold the piece shortly after I bought it because it brought a hell of a profit, but I was young and stupid then (1989). I had bought that piece for under $75 in Germany and only got $750 for it. I wish I could give the $750 back for that piece. What's done is done. Yes, I would like to own one again. It was really nice!

I've always liked the designs, but I've never seriously looked for one. I guess they're not obscure enough for me to collect.

Like several others, I really like the design and the arcane nature of the coin. A couple of years ago, I read on the ANA website an exhaustive analysis of the series......dates, types, rarity, etc. It was clearlky a work of love. This might help anyone get started with the series. Too expensive for me right now though.

I like tham and think they are interesting but I can't afford to collect them. There is a member of the coin club in Fort Wayne that does collect them. He has between 9 and 12 different varieties. A real major collection.
