    It's a Zen rock garden.

    LMAO,

Blade, Outhaul ... a very similar thought immediately came to my mind also, 'cept I was thinking "dinosaur $hit".

So what is it? A rock garden? I've never found the tranquility in one; maybe it's the western culture, but give me a nice clean and sparsely populated beach. With the temperature around, say 80 degrees. That's nice comfortable and not too hot for a beach, right? And the sparse population, well, they would have to be "babes". Nice, athletically inclined and visually pleasing. Yeah, am there, relaxin', enjoyin', calm and tranquil ...... image Could you bring me a glass of iced tea? Oh, I forgot. Gotta' have a beach umbrella for shade, and a little side table for my iced tea, from the Tiki bar. Yeah, I think I could get into that. image

Well, in this dreary winter time, I think this is a more inspiring sight for me:

    Great Smoky Mountains in TN:

  • Actually I like it and seems very relaxing. To be able to experience one of these in person is much better.

  • Thanks guys! For the interesting responses, mostly.

The place is Ryoanji Temple in Kyoto, Japan. Yes, it's a rock garden, probably the most famous one in the world.

A few years back I was there myself. Actually it ain't bad just looking at it just from the picture, because usually it's crowded (like the Mona Lisa at the Louve), if you get my drift.

Some people stare at a coin and start calling it with all kinds of names: Rainbow, Toned, AT, DCAM, Fake, Mirror Field, Buffalos, Elephants, Walkers, Limpers, Eagles, Kookaburas, Barbers, and yeah... whatever...

You can do the same with a rock garden, use your imgination. But funny, usually I don't feel at peace at a beach, too many slicon implants bouncing around for me to feel "calm, and at peace."image

    One more for you:
