Ahhh, my favorite showman,PT Barnum, still in his original box...

Picked up a Bridgeport half, in the original box, image
Condition: NICE!Both coin and box!
Suprisingly, the toning is ok, nothing great, the eagle/shark rev. a little splotchy.
There`s a sucker born every minute... and I`m the sucker when it comes to neat coins, and the neat packaging they came in.
A dealer once asked me if I noticed any three-legged buffalos on the bourse,to which I replied,"...no,but I saw alot of two-legged jackasses..."

  • You don't need a scanner. You just look at the coin, create the code in binary and then transfer it manually and then post it here, like this:

(p.s. - in Maine they call coins like this "wicked"; I possessed this coin for about...hmmm......a day. Messin' with coins like this beats the practice of law 7 days a week. I enjoy the challenge of the photography the most. "Photographs....photographs....wink, wink, nod, nod, say na more, say na more, squire, he said knowingly...")

[(it has that tab toning and "from a purists point of view, that is most desireable." (sic) (...an 'inside' joke....... for lovers of..... a Roanoke)]

Hmmmmmmm, thats not the answer I was looking for but cool, I respect your keeping this info private, a member of my party found one at the Tacoma coin show from a delightful older ?(late 70s or early 80s) gentleman. I kept calling him young man and I think he enjoyed this. Anyway, the coin had some original attractive toning and was 99% nik free, my friend paid $150. The nice young dealer showed us a book that claimed very few of these have survived in this state.

Shoot - just missed it...sounded like something a (former) major league reliever would say before he was rehabilitated....

Good job on finding one with the original holder. I don't know what it adds to the resale value, but it sure adds a lot to the coolness factor.

I think it is a violation of the CU boards TOS to tell of a coin and not post an image!

Good find, original packaging is hard to come by.

  • My staff(wife) and I will try to get the scanner up and runnin` tonite and maybe a pic is forthcoming, however this one is only a off-white so-so compared to Anaconda`s colorized Bridgeport.image
