Where to buy Raw BU Moderns Online for album?

I would like to assemble a set of nice MS 63-65 modern coins for each of the currently circulating coins. It is easy to find the memorial lincolns as BU sets on Ebay, but where can I buy similar sets of jeffersons, roosevelts, washingtons and kennedies online as either the sets at near greysheet buy prices or individually at even Red Book prices?

At $0.15 a piece for BU jeffersons dated after 1960, I think a set put together today in an intercept shield album should maintain its value into the future. Granted it will never shoot up in price, but an attractive, matched uncirculated, untoned set would be good for the kids and grandkids to see.

I was not planning to buy the set outright in an album, since I want to use the intercept albums and would shop around on Ebay for the higher priced uncirculated pieces, such as the silver war nickels or 1949 dimes and earlier date washingtons. if you an point me to a good online source for what I am looking for at the prices that the guides say exist, I would appreciate it.

Try the Buy/Sell/Trade forum. I'd think there would be enough people who cut apart mint sets for singles that they'd sell the remaining BU coins at a decent price.

I put together the same sets that you are planning. I got nearly all of the 1964 to present coins from mint sets. You can find fairly cheap mint sets on ebay going back to 1964. Earlier than that the prices start to climb. You will have a problem with the 1982 and 1983 sets which were not produced by the mint. There are "special" mint sets for these years on ebay but they tend to be expensive. With some patience, I was able to find most of the sets on ebay at or below the Greysheet bid prices.

I found that the coins in the old mint sets are typically in fairly decent shape. Most fell within the MS 63-65 range that you are looking for. Some of the coins in the newer sets (1990's) were even nicer.

I have bought a couple mint sets from Ebay and am quite disappointed in the quality. I expect that the quality from original rolls or mint bags would be better than what I have gotten in the mint sets. Maybe I expect too much for the price point that I hav set for myself. Thank you for your input.

You'll need three or four of each mint set to get a nice MS-63/4 denomination set.
Get a few extra for '68, '69, '74, '75, '81, '82, '83, and '89. Maybe several extra '69's.
On the plus side you'll have some real nice coins too and the sets you cut will mostly
have a higher wholesale value after you cut them. You'll find some of these BU rolls
virtually mpossible to find, which may be just as well since oftimes these are far worse
than the sets. You will have to find BU rolls or singles for the 79-P wide rim, 79-S dollar,
all the '82 and '83 issues, the 71 and '72 P&D Ikes, and the '99 SBA. I would suggest
you stretch just a little and get 10 of each set. This will give you nearly complete MS-65
sets with a couple registry quality coins. It easier than it sounds... ...good luck.
