options on the constant bickering here?

Are there any options on what to do about the constant bickering between forumn members? I have seen other forumns where you are able to block posts from people you choose. This might be a drastic measure but it might bring back some civility. mike

Ignore it and it WILL go away. Many of those threads are prolonged by posters who get sucked in and apparently feel compelled to say something. That only adds fuel to the fire and provides additional attention to those who seek it.
If you wouldn't say it in person, then think about NOT posting it here.
If your post is about the personalities, rather than the coin, then DO NOT post it here.
Do not respond to those threads.

So let us continue to meet at shows. Next up: Santa Clara.

I'll second this motion. I think it is very difficult to dislike someone you have share time and perhaps a meal with (even if it's only a soda and chips at the snack stand).
The answer is simply not to respond to the type of posts you don't like, like others have said. Oh, I do have to bite my tongue at times, but I will stick to my guns and not reply. If there's something in one of those posts that I absolutely must comment on, I will send a PM.
It will pass quickly, anyway.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
1. Thicker skin
2. Self discipline
3. Forgiveness
I agree.

I was going to agree, but then I reread the message. You didn't suggest prison, after all.

You are right. I was stupid to feel compelled to respond to the personal attacks, name calling and immature behavior of someone bragging of all the margaritas she had consumed last night.
I tried to pursuade her to take a position of just avoiding one another's posts and she starts up with the attacks again. I don't care for her, she doesn't like me and that is perfectly fine. I'll stay away from her posts and if a flare up begins, then Members will know how it began.
Moderator...WHACK HIS PEE PEE!!!
I tried that last night. Just read through this thread

After a little flaming she sets off and creates a thread about me. That is the FOURTH thread she has created specifically about me with my ID in the title. I've never created any threads about her.
I said before that I will stay away from her posts and hopefully she will stay away from mine.
What in the heck do you mean by that, Kranky? Huh?! ANSWER ME!!!
I find it odd that flame-war threads gets lots of reponses, and serious questions and discussions that are purely about coins and their history get pushed down to the second or third page.
Obscurum per obscurius
Thats what Dcam calls "burying the hatchet"
no wonder why she whats to cut you a new one.
Changing yourself is WAY easier than changing other people. (Activist or Conformist or Escapist - escapist is the clear choice. You do what you want to do.)
I'm from New Jersey (get a rope!), I'm a personal injury lawyer (ambulance chaser) and I like snakes (what are you weird?), so I have had
some previous experience with the joys of thick skin.

I remember one member on a thread like that saying how he posted about a nice coin he got and it received 3 replies - while the BS posts recieve many times more. That's why I think a new forum should be created.
BTW - I think Lucy likes DCAM but she just doesn't know how to show it.
My posts viewed

I like the BS threads because they're interesting. When there is no high profile thread this forum can get BORING. My wife's mother belongs to the Red Hat club. I don't know what the Red Hat club is but its about as interesting to me an many of the threads. Once in a while things have to stirred up just to see if you guys are alive.
See CoinGuy1, I passed on the opportunity to deliver the line I really wanted to make! Improvement?
