I hope that perhaps my experience may have been helpful to anyone who has a tendency to be compulsive. Sorry to have been such a bother.
Please let me know how to unsuscribe from the Boards and I will no longer bother anyone. My ebay account will be shut down.
Take care,
Barney

A Tax is a fine for doing good.
However, I really appreciate the positive feedback I've received here. I'm quite surprised and pleased.
I'll repost Adrian's pic of the morgan.
Take care,

I've spent more in the last six months than I ever have. But if we can get a grip and hold back from time to time it all works out.
Take a look at my sig line, It's a 1897 pr66 Morgan and I paid dearly for it. But have no regrets so far. Thanks in advance for posting your
Morgan again. If I'm correct I guess when you bought this you over extended yourself. I have no idea what the deal was as I missed a lot of this. But if you love it and can afford to keep it enjoy it and show it off, why not.

Me too But what's the lesson?
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Barkeep another round on me.
"The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD GOD Almighty."
The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
I must chime in with all. I have found no issues with you at any time.
So far as the budget thing (both time and money) I think you will settle in to both.
Stick around ...
Thanks for the kind words.

Don't just give up something you love. Just take some time to see what you have. I know you have one each Monster Morgan!!
The hard part was finding such a piece. Now it's time to regroup, check and recheck your finances, and DON'T BUY ANYTHING no matter how tempted you are! Do things cheap now; like reading and posting in this forum, reading some good coin books, going to coin shows to chat and glean information, keep up with the trends in the market, etc. Don't worry, there will always be great coins to be had when you are ready to hunt for them again. Modern Cash is KING in this business, so focus on acquiring disposable cash. If you can reasonably survive the next few months without resorting to eating Alpo, you did well!! If not, just sell some stuff with the idea of keeping your best acquisitions. Giving up a great hobby will be a far greater loss than just stepping away and regrouping. I am in the same position as you are right now; hunting season is over for me, but there's always next year! And you should see a couple of the 10-point bucks I downed this season!

Proud member of TCCS!
Seems we are all confused as to why you feel the need to leave the Forum. If is just buying too much and overspending, then that can easily be fixed. Anything that has been bought, can be SOLD! Take some of your least favorite coins and place them on Ebay. I'm sure a lot of people on this Forum would be interested in your coins and we could help you raise the cash to get you need to get back to a comfort level!
If it is something someone, or more, has done here, then BLOW IT OFF! There is no one here that can tell you whether you can or cannot post on this Forum. To heck with anyone that tries!
The "lesson" was intended for those who have a tendency to overspend and "pull the trigger" too quickly. I've been
forturnate for the most part and am OK financially. I'm still working on a nice gold type set and looking at toned 'cc' morgans, but I really should be more careful. I was ticked off by a board member and felt I might have been spending (and posting)
too much here. I really should get into the research side more and I've been doing some on-line.
The safe thing is to just disappear-but then do what? Coins is not only fun but, if money is spent wisely, can be a safe place to put
extra money aside. And I dig the art-history of the whole thing!
I definitely have much more to learn so I'll be around now and then-and I appreciate the positive feedback.
See ya later and thanks,
Barn
Please don't let one Member's comments run you away from this Forum. Nobody here has the ability to keep you from posting to this Forum. I'm quite sure we would much rather have your comments and insight than that of the other Member. Stick around. Sell some of your lesser coins and let us help you out of any jam.
Actually I think that Barney is in the majority on this one. We are ALL coin-o-holics. As far as someone projecting their ethics on your lifestyle, this has nothing to do with your personal freedoms. Opinions are like noses everybody has one and they are all different.
Hi my name is Radiofrek and I'm a coin-a-holic...
