    I collect shattered die/ cracked die coins as well.. Cool coin. Does the obv have a die crack as well?

    I don't imagine that die saw more than a couple more coins before it gave up it's ghost.

  • Interesting. I don't have a copy of Grellman right now but I went looking through my copy of Jack Robinsons sale (Jacks cent collection was nearly complete for all of the varieties and he was also into die states especially terminal die states.) He didn't have anything in the 1847's like that cent. You may have a new unlisted terminal die state.

    Cool coin, Spooly! Did you have to pay a premium for it?

    The coin with the most cracks I've ever seen was a seated half with at least 4 major cracks.

    I can't remeber what I paid for it. It was sheet price for the coin and grade. (I paid no premium)

    Yeah that's pretty cool!
    Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    It circulated quite abit berfore it was pulled for a collector piece.Imagine what it looked like when it was red.
    Wow.That reverse die was really on its last leg.Great, late die-state Large cent.
    The crack could add some premium I,d think.
